Does your child have an easy time transitioning to a vacation or does the change in schedule throw them off? Is there sleeping the same or do they struggle? How about returning home?

It always takes couple days for the boys with regards to everything, including sleep because of the change so it keeps me on my toes

Neither of the boys really has any difficulty transitioning while on vacation but we keep the bedtime routine the same. The excitement level is definitely different, and they may stay up later or wake up earlier but they still sleep well and when we get home they are always exhausted.

She doesn't have any trouble sleeping & in fact, she talks about her love for the hotel on a daily basis. I have been letting her stay up later since school's out, but generally we stick to the same schedule, even at the beach.

He has been a little more bored than normal, otherwise he hasn't had too much of an issue.

Other than quick weekend trips to visit family, we've never done a real vacation. Our first is booked for July, we're going to Niagara Falls for 5 days.

When we do go away on weekends, I try to keep his routine for bed and meals as close to normal as I can. He's an excellent car traveller and never has an issue falling asleep in a different bed, so I'm hopeful the vacation will go well.

Leah has a hard time getting used to sleeping somewhere else, but otherwise she has no issues with transitioning to vacation mode.
