We haven't been to the zoo in a couple years now (closest one is over an hour away), but both my kiddos love it. #2 is really into fish and sharks and whatnot at the moment, so we really want to get him back up to the Omaha Zoo (the closest "big" zoo) to the aquarium.

which animal(s) is their favorite to see? It's a toss up between giraffes, elephants, and the nocturnal house (mainly the cats)

Cleveland Zoo? We went there once when we lived in Kent. It was NICE!!! Akron's was small but had a good penguin exhibit that almost made it worth it. LOL

My kids really enjoy the zoo, but i've learned a few things over the last few years. I've learned not to push my agenda and to just follow their lead. I used to be so bent on seeing everying and staying all day to "get my money's worth." That was so stressful on the kids and parents. Now, we take lots of breaks and i allow them to go where they want to go (skip over some sections and see others more than once). It's more of an adventure for them and less of a chore.
