No theme. It was completely bare when he was born. He had no crib bedding so we didn't have to decorate around that. We added random pictures as we desired. When he switched to a bed he used DH's old full sized bed, including his comforter. It's blue plaid on one side and brown on the other. So we have navy curtains and a green rope rug to match it.

The current pictures/wall decor are:
two framed puzzles DH and I had done Neuschwanstein Castle and Space Shuttle
a giraffe mother/baby picture my mom gave me years ago
a small frog mirror I bought about 12 years ago
a stuffed plush bison head he got from his uncle--he runs a restaurant and got that when visiting the bison farm where he gets his meat.

Needless to say it's pretty eclectic. The only new things we bought were the rug and curtains.

Most of his toys are elsewhere so there isn't much to organize. We just have to pick up his legos and blocks and reorder his books every now and then.

Allison still sleeps in our room (in her converted crib) but she wants to move to her own room when she's a big girl (at 3 she says!). So, for her birthday, DH is building her a loft bed with a desk underneath and we will decorate it how she wants. Her walls are pale green with her name written on it. It's very clean because she picks up her toys every evening before bed. She is like DH and wants everything in its place!

Both kids had nursery themes and all that but they are older now and want their own things on the walls. I do keep it fairly well organized and tidy despite it being a shared room.
