What time do your kids go to sleep?

My boys still nap in the day time 1pm - 3:15pm. At night time we get them into their room by 8pm after their baths and read stories. They are in bed by 8:30, but almost EVERY night they are awake until 10pm... tossing and turning, asking for water, asking to go to bathroom, saying they're hungry, not tired..... the list goes on and on...... (they share a room).

I'm sure we are not the only ones with late night preschoolers.... What do you guys do with your kids to ensure they go to bed on time, or what do you find that helps? We don't give in when they ask for snacks, just say good night we love you, tuck them in again and close the door.

Don't want to get rid of naps but on days we don't do a nap, they are both sound asleep at 8-8:30pm.... hmmm....

Thanks for your advice!

We usually start bedtime routine around 8:00....... then we get take a bath (on certain nights), PJs, Floss & Brush, Play a game, Read some Books, Sing, and into bed.

I would say most nights he is out in 15-20 minutes and he still naps most days. I think the key to it is we play very actively from dinnertime until bedtime.
