We didnt take DD until she was 5, we noticed she had a cavity. I was really upset because we have taken such great effort to take excellent care of the kids teeth. But she did great and there was no problem.
It can be hard to find a dentist office that is good with working with little kids.
The one we went to told the kids there to "hit the dentist" if it hurts.
Um, I teach my kids NOT to hit ANYONE- EVER - for any reason.
We promptly found a better place that doesn't endorse violence. Good grief!
We'll probably be doing yearly checkups for her and start them for DS when he's 4 or 5 also.
Ryan has been to the dentist 3 times so far and has another appointment coming up this Spring...... I LOVE his dentist!!!! It's a pediatric dentist to the specialize in small kids. The first time was just an introduction to the dentist..... Second time he refused to do much at all.... Last time he and his bear sat in the chair and let them do a full cleaning and they taught him how to floss and then they checked his bears "teeth"
