Does your child know how to swim? if so how did they learn? I'm thinking about signing Kaylee up for lessons at the YMCA.

Nope. I will probably wait until next year since his tubes will probably have fallen out and hopefully he won't need another set. If he does then we'll invest in the ear plugs and headband to keep them in and do lessons somewhere. A lot of places don't do weekend classes though which makes it almost impossible if you work full time.

Kaylee know hows to swim but not underwater just yet. My DH and I have had her in the pools since she was a baby and last summer was the first that she tried swimming without her swimmy arms/water wings and did OK. Now that she's taller she's REALLY enjoying it! She'lll go underwater but needs to hold her nose to do so...we plan on working on the "blowing bubbles out your nose" bit this summer.

Vanessa loves the pool too but she hates the swimmy arms. I have a floatie bathing suit that I hope to try to teach her how to swim in.

We live in a pool community, so we are in the pool practically every day during the summer. My DD is 4, and I just signed her up for official swimming lessons for the first time this summer.

This year we did swimming classes as we told my DD that she was too big for her swimmies this year, she has done really well with the classes, but uses a noodle to get around in the pool. I think by next year she'll be doing much better and we may continue the rest of the year with swimming classes.

The Hurricanes haven't learned to swim yet, but they love the water. We live near a big lake and we go there pretty much every weekend during the summer. I'm pretty sure they'll be swimming by the end of this summer. I didn't get to spend as much time trying to teach them last year as I would have liked, b/c I was pg with Zach. This year will be different though.
