Kaylee and Vanessa both didn't go to bed until after 10pm last night!!!! So I figured...they'd sleep in. WRONG!!!!

Kaylee was up at 7:45 but I sent her back in to lay down (hoping she'd fall asleep again - but she didn't!) and then Vanessa was up at 8:20am!!!!!

ACK!

Vanessa will nap during the day so I'm not too concerned...but Kaylee has a really big weekend ahead of her as she has 5 dance routines in the recital!!!! We need to leave the house today at 11am and it'll be non-stop for her until 5pm!!! This is bound to be one interesting day.

Ever since school has been out these kids of mine are up at the crack of dawn (or so it seems!). I'm really seriously thinking of buying those black out curtains. I already have room darkening shades in their bedrooms since our home sits in 100%sun...but really, don't they know it's summer vacation now and you are supposed to SLEEP IN!?!?!?!

Will I ever get to sleep past 8am while they live here at home?

oh to sleep in until 7:45!! Michaela's up with DH at 6:45 so of course I'm up too. I miss the days when she used to sleep until 9! I'm hoping once she hits the teenage years she'll want to sleep in and not get up soo early!

I have a blue queen size sheet (folded in 4) up over my girls' curtain. It works tremendously and you can take it down at any time.

I'm laughing while reading this...because... you'll be waking up ALOT earlier in a few months now, won't you?(after the new baby) And more frequently? Kaylee used to sleep until at least 8:30am everyday but once I had Vanessa...she became a morning bird!!!! ugh.

But I do agree...I'm anxious for the years to come when they'll learn that sleeping in is great!!!
