I was just filling out the ASQSE for G's 18 month appt. tomorrow and these questions were on it.

Do you take time for yourself?

and

If you draw a straight line top to bottom on a piece of paper will your child copy that or scribble? (I'm paraphrasing).

and Potty training readiness...
1. stay dry for 2 hours
2. knows when he/she is wet
3. let's you know when he/she's about to poo
4. can pull pants down and up on their own

I intended to ask another question here, but I'd have to reach over and wake up my OH in order to check it, so two will have to do.

So, how would you answer these questions?

Do you take time for yourself? I'd have to say yes, but I don't take *quality* time for myself.

and

If you draw a straight line top to bottom on a piece of paper will your child copy that or scribble? (I'm paraphrasing). Scribble.

and Potty training readiness...
1. stay dry for 2 hours Yes
2. knows when he/she is wet I'm not sure - it certainly doesn't worry her too much. I guess I'd say no.
3. let's you know when he/she's about to poo Yep, most of Zoe's poo's are on the potty these days.
4. can pull pants down and up on their own She tries, but I usually stop her - definitely don't want to encourage yanking down her pants yet I don't think she's quite coordinate enough to successfully pull up and down long pants.

Do you take time for yourself? Some, but probably not as much as I should.

and

If you draw a straight line top to bottom on a piece of paper will your child copy that or scribble? (I'm paraphrasing). Mason wouldn't copy a straight line but he loves to scribble!

and Potty training readiness...
1. stay dry for 2 hours - I haven't actually checked on this, but I would say yes.
2. knows when he/she is wet - Maybe, but he certainly doesn't communicate that to me!
3. let's you know when he/she's about to poo - Nope. I can never tell until I smell it! He doesn't make any poopin noises, have a secret poopin place or anything! He's a pro at walking and pooping, all with a straight face. Talented kid!
4. can pull pants down and up on their own - He manages to get them off occasionally, but it has nothing to do with wanting to get his diaper off.

Do you take time for yourself? No, and I'm paying for it now
and

If you draw a straight line top to bottom on a piece of paper will your child copy that or scribble? (I'm paraphrasing). We have to test this out before his appointment this afternoon. I think he might though. He's an excellent mimic.

and Potty training readiness...
1. stay dry for 2 hours - yes
2. knows when he/she is wet - I don't know...I think he knows when he goes, but doesn't care much
3. let's you know when he/she's about to poo - Definitely...he's a potty pooper now too due to his dramatic presentation.
4. I do NOT encourage this kind of behaviour See my next thread start for rationale

Do you take time for yourself? some might say work and my commute is time for myself, but I don't agree. But I do go to the gym to work out a couple times a week and I suppose that is my time

and

If you draw a straight line top to bottom on a piece of paper will your child copy that or scribble? (I'm paraphrasing). I think she'd scribble, but I don't know. We may have to test that one out

and Potty training readiness...
1. stay dry for 2 hours I think so...
2. knows when he/she is wet I don't think she does, or cares as much
3. let's you know when he/she's about to poo Yes! She is starting to tell us and DH has put her on the toilet a couple times. For some reason he says she prefers the upstairs one, so it's usually mostly done by the time they get up there. This has mostly happened when I'm not home so I haven't really witnessed it. But she has told me a couple times before she's gone in her diaper and I haven't responded fast enough or believed her (bad mommy)
4. can pull pants down and up on their own Last time I was home when she was telling us she was pooping she tried to pull down her pants while telling us. But lazy me wasn't sure she was right and she was in a onesie so I knew I wouldn't get it all off before we made it to the toilet... But anyways, I'd prefer she not pull down her pants quite yet since I've heard too many poop smearing crib horror stories!
