How are you doing in this area of life?
Personally I suck at it and my relationship is paying the price.
So let's hear about some of your past dates or date ideas.
Tonight we are going to a murder mystery dinner theater for a birthday celebration. Wish me luck that I come back alive
Sent from home so sorry for crazy auto correct if it is an issue...I can't see it and won't be coming back to edit

We aren't very good at getting out either. Once a month if we are lucky. Then all we usually can afford is dinner and maybe a movie if we are lucky. I really really want more time with DH, not in the company of children or family members.

Elliot and I have gone on TWO dates. One last January when my mom was in town, and one for my birthday. We suck. And we just end up talking about the kid the whole time, anyway.

We've gone out 4 times without Juliet, and one was with a big group for a friend's birthday, so not really a date.
First time, we went to dinner and mini golfing, she was almost 4 months then (it was our birthdays).
Second, we went to a glass blowing exhibit and class thing with an alumni group from our college, she was 8 months old then.
Third, our birthday this year so she was almost 16 months. I think we just went to dinner and spent a ridiculous amount at Cheesecake Factory.
Fourth was the group thing with friends, a cruise around the Baltimore Harbor in the afternoon then a dueling piano bar for happy hour/night time.

But, this Saturday we are going out! We're going to Annapolis for a short boat cruise around looking at lights, then a bar crawl (it's a Living Social Adventure deal thingy). I'm not sure how much of the bar crawl we'll do. And we're going to try to go out to dinner beforehand also. My mom's house is on the way to it all so we're dropping off Juliet there... we'll see how she does with going to bed there and then us waking her to take her home... but it still makes more sense than having my mom drive up to us.

We are awful at date night. Mainly because, we have a limited supply of babysitters, and hubby is a workaholic. We went out for our anniversary in October, but prior to that we hadn't gone out since his work holiday party last November. We should probably make more of an effort.

We really don't get out much... and if we do, it's WITH Zoe, and that's not much of a date

We do have DHs Christmas party this weekend though, and we're going out the next weekend for a fancy dinner to celebrate 10 years of being together! DH wanted to do a fancy 9 course French degustation thing, but that sounded way too pretentious for me - I wouldn't get the true joy out of "puree of sunchoke followed by 62 degree quail egg". So we're going to Alexander's Steakhouse where we can still splurge and have a melt in your mouth steak and awesome cocktails.

We have had a horrible time trying to have date nights lately. Not that we were good at it before, but DH has been working LOADS of OT and it just hasn't happened. We never even got to go out for our anniversary! So pathetic. We don't have a babysitter and always have to beg DH's parents to watch the kids. Often I feel like I'm inconveniencing them, so we end up speed eating and hurry back, which pretty much manages to zap the fun. I REALLY need a babysitter for this kind of stuff.

It actually was pretty fun. We had lots of friends and family with us but it was nice to be able to chat without our sweet little guy clamouring for all the attention

We've not been very good at it, but now that we have a great babysitter we may go out a little more often, if only for dinner. But babysitters + dinner = expensive!!

We're actually going out all Saturday evening.... it's Den's office christmas party and then we're stopping by a friend's birthday party.

Dh and I go out to dinner about once a month. We did a lot of couple stuff in November our trip to OR and before that for his birthday an overnight stay at a nice hotel. So we might choose to skip our date night in December.
