BabyCenter just released their top 100 baby names of 2011. 100 most popular baby names of 2011 | BabyCenter

Was your LO on there? Did you expect them to be?

I was expecting Zoe to be somewhere near the top, at least in the top third - but it's on there at all! We chose Zoe because it was a known name, but not too common, but I'm still surprised it's not there.

Claire took a big jump from last year. She is 36th now and was in the 60s last year.

Colby isn't even on there and I don't think it ever has been.

Julia and Juliana are on there, but not Juliet I also wanted a name that was "known" and easy to spell/pronounce but not super common, so I'm happy

There are definitely some on there that surprise me. And the other name I wanted for Juliet - Elizabeth - was in the top 10 around 2009/2010 and on that list it's 34!

Yeah it seems a weird list. I looked at the last couple of years (from different sources) and Zoe was in the top 30-40 each year.

Nowhere near it, yay! And the boys names I like (because I'm convinced the next one will be a boy) aren't, either. Sad I had to give up on Henry, though.

I wonder if that list is just people who are members of that site? It seems a little off with a few names I could think of...plus odd that it's out at the end of November? Anyway, I always love looking at those lists for fun. There are a lot of names I do like on that one.

Wow, Katherine's way down at number 98. It had been pretty high the last few years.

Mason is #3! I didn't think it was THAT popular. Figures...and Jackson is #2! I was really surprised to see that Avery was at #17. When I was pregnant with the twins and picked out their names, Avery wasn't even in the top 50.

I just looked where Mason was in 2009, when we picked out his name, and it was at #28. That's a pretty decent jump for only a couple years.

Weird that Katherine is way down at #98 but Caroline AND Mackenzie are 77, 78. Seriously? What are the odds?

I wanted a name people could spell off the bat, but didn't know five others. It's in the 90's which does not surprise me. BROOKE, on the other hand, has been in the top 100 since the darn 80's. Surprising.

We're always in the top 100. All of us (my entire family).

They are, in fact, still kinda pissy about me spelling it Johnathan. It will apparently cause him lifelong issues.

I don't worry about it too much... of all the strange quirks I expect from this kid a slightly weird name is the least of our worries.

Only DH (Anthony) is on the list. Mark and Becky (or Rebekah) are old fashioned names I'm told so I didn't expect to see them.
