Was just picking up and thinking....

Geezus I hope I'm not the only mom out there with a totally ridiculous bedroom.

We have a mattress on a frame, and another mattress on the floor. Because, you know.... even though my kids have gorgeous rooms that I painstakingly decorated for them, they like to sleep in MY ghetto bedroom.

We have two mismatched dressers, a suitcase on the floor full of hubby's clothes, and two boxes of more clothes stacked in a corner.

We have mismatched bedding, and blankets... ours, and the kids... everywhere.

Our goal for 2012 is to decorate our room, and buy some real bedroom furniture. In the meantime I guess it will just keep being the "hippie commune" as my hubby calls it, with the whole floor taken up by mattresses!!

LMAO Yes!!! We have no frame for our bed (I like it low, with no dust underneath it). No headboard. I don't have a dresser so my clothes are still in bins around the room. We have to get a new cheap comforter every year because somehow during the summer the dogs always manage to ruin ours. So.... yeeaaaahhhh no one goes into our bedroom. LOL

mismatched dressers. for a while our boxspring was on the floor, then DH made me a bedframe and headboard... honestly it doesn't look all that great, definitely looks "homemade". Junk everywhere, but the worst is the animal fur/hair. No matter how hard I try I can't get rid of it, so up here I've kind of given up. Oh and a futon mattress folded in half in one corner is the dog's bed. And an old crappy recliner DH is in love with was brought up here for me before Juliet was born, but I really didn't nurse her in it too much. For the next baby a nice glider is on my list.

Mine started out nice. Gray silver black and pink...

Since moving in-house part of our laminate flooring came up right in front of our door. Oh no door. A curtain covers it. A wardrobe that doesn't match has moved in for Elise's clothes. An ugly dresser. My shelf fell apart (with a little help from Elise.) Playpen by the bed. Clothes EVERYWHERE! a half packed suitcase from November that even though I know its there I stub my toe on it daily. An ancient stereo that sits on top of ugly dresser.

Don't even get me started on the master bath. I have a huge whirlpool tub I can't use cause a knob got stripped. Black fixtures and hard water make for a terrible combo. And I quit putting my makeup away....did I mention I quit painting halfway through. Half is an ugly yellow and half is the gray from the bedroom. *sigh*

Okay at least I'm feeling better about mine. sometimes I feel like we must be the worlds worst slobs when it comes to clothes and our bedroom. It's like the laundry monster parked his butt there years ago and never leaves.

I thought no way is my bedroom ghetto! But I guess it is... haha! We hav a cat tree, plus their food and water in there. Mismatched dresser, side tables, and bookshelf full of random crap. We do have a bed frame, but it's silver and pretty boring.

I'm not a matchy matchy person in general, we don't have any room in the house that has matching stuff. When we move back to Australia we'll leave pretty much everything behind, so maybe we'll actually try to have matching sets then.

Every once in a while I really try. So the things in here are relatively nice. Pretty much every single item I own is second hand, but when it comes to furniture I prefer that since it's nicer than what I could afford new...and more interesting.
My bed is still just on a frame and that actually drives me a little bit crazy lately. The plan is for us to make a new one after xmas with storage under it.
None of the furniture matches, but I'm actually not a fan of sets.
The vast quantities of yarn and shipping packages is a little ridiculous. As are the laundry baskets parked in front of my dresser which causes my new clean and folded stuff to get piled on top of my dresser. Yep...it's pretty ghetto now that you mention it.
I do love my bedding and linens.
My mom once asked if she could go lay down with GG and I'm sure my reaction made her wonder wth was going on down here.

I've got nice furniture, matching drawer chest and dresser and a couple coordinating, but not matching, nightstands. The furniture is great, everything else...not so much. Our room is the one that everything gets thrown in. We can hide our room, close the door and nobody (except now you girls!) know that it looks like a bomb went off!

Hippie commune!!! Love it!

Ours is okay. Wood dresser, large wood framed mirror, cedar chest in place of the foot board and a random black filing cabinet. We do have a head boar and a frame but it's nothing special. The only thing hanging on our wall besides he mirror is our decorative marriage certificate. Our sheets are green and we use a green fleece type blanket. Our comforter is down and we have had I for seven (SEVEN) years so it looks like we are secretly hoarding ducks and stashing them under the bed with as many feathers as we lose. There is also a change jar that collects nuts, bolts, screws, random buttons, lighters, etc.

The clothing situations is this... That's the clean pile and that's the dirty pile! When Violet is napping I know I should fold them but somehow I feel like sitting in silence with a cup of coffee is so so much nicer than folding laundry

We have really nice furniture but our room is tiny, like barely fits our queen size bed. And the bed is surrounded by hairy dog beds on two sides. I'm going to call it semi-ghetto!

We have no headboard or footboard. I guess we just never got around to looking for one when we got a bigger mattress. The rest is pretty normal...even a full length standing mirror-makes me feel like a princess!

Same exact deal here. I finally convinced DH to let me get a Temperpedic mattress, so I bumped up to a king and then he was too cheap to buy the stinkin king sized headboard to go with it! Lol...someday!

My room is pretty smallish and ghetto too. We have clean pile and dirty pile, which sometimes mixes unfortunately so we don't know what is what. We have a matching dresser and armoire, both of which are mostly empty of anything we currently wear, because the corner of the dining room is one massive pile of pretty much every item of clothing the 4 of us own.

We have a mismatched end table by DH's side of the bed and a small cabinet with a door from Menards on my side where I keep my meds, my Kindle, and my Nintendo DS from little hands with one of those babylock straps. My dresser is in the tiny closet which is only half the size of a normal master bedroom closet. Our glider chair is on my side of the bed in front of the window and is usually piled with my clean pairs of jeans until I have worn them all and put them back in the wash.

Normally our whole house is pretty ghetto, but today DH and I did a lot of cleaning. The only thing left, regrettably, is the mountain of clothes in the dining room and dishes in the kitchen. DH refuses to handwash dishes, so we are waiting on the dishwasher to finish its current load and we are both taking a break from 3 hours of cleaning.

EDIT:
Oh yea, I don't know how I could forget, we have a long dresser that matches nothing else straight ahead from our bed, with our older TV on it and a blu-ray-DVD/Netflix player on its top and our Playstation 2 to the side, with the matching cabinet to the one next to my side (without its door, which broke off a long time ago) holding Playstation games and a few DVDs.

Our room is a disaster, but I've started tackling it. Totally mismatched dressers, a desk with a shelf above it (because there's literally nowhere else in our little 2 bedroom house to put it), the proverbial suitcase on the floor, boxed up baby clothes, bed on the steel frame with no headboard, tv on the dresser...

Okay, I said I was tackling it, right? *L* I'm having enough trouble in the romance department, so it's time to make that room more appealing!

Our bedroom has matching furniture made of beautiful Malaysian hardwood of some sort. We got it as a wedding giftfrom some rich relatives. But you can't see any of it, it is covered in cheap blankets and laundry. Tons and tons and tons of laundry.

Well, hubby got me a TV for christmas (ha ha ha.. SURE it was for *me*) so at least the 20 year old tube TV is gone. Now we have a nice new TV on the wall.... and the no-kids-playing-with-it rule lasted a whole 15 minutes....

Now for some new bedding, and maybe furniture someday!!!!!

Laundry and more laundry and more laundry and very cheap old Ikea furniture is what my bedroom is. I hate that it's a major disaster and thankfully my kids are still little enough not to call me out on it when I tell(ask) them to tidy there rooms up a tiny bit.

My room is just a great big bed, and lots of little piles of cr@p and laundry.
My room is on the list of things to be done, but I dont see it happening any time soon.
