Is awesome

My brothers Nate and Sam are 19. They are both awesome, for different reasons. Today I'm gonna gush about Nate.
When Ethan died, Nate was crushed. When I got pregnant again, he would not be involved in my pregnancy. Refused to talk about it, didn't want to hear about it. His sole contribution was a list of ridiculous baby names (Ben Dover, I. P. Freely, etc.). I totally understood his fear of getting attached, never pushed him to be involved. The second they yanked Grant out of me, he went into Awesome Uncle mode. He loves to play with Grant, they are total buddies. And every Christmas, he spends a lot of time gift shopping, because he wants to get him the perfect gift.
Both boys are in college, which means they are both broke. But Christmas morning we woke up to a kawasaki power wheels from Uncle Nate! It cost $100! I told Nate that it was too much, that he should take it back and get Grant some Thomas trains, he could save himself like $80, but Nate said "Pffffft, miniature trains are for suckers. MY nephew needs some wheels. He's gotta be the coolest kid on the block!" He set the power wheels up while Grant was napping, and when Grant woke up, Nate scooped him up and out they went for a drive. If you're on my facebook, I have a video posted. Afterwards Nate said to me "now THAT'S how MY nephew rolls." Then they went downstairs to play trains.
I spent a significant chunk of my teen years helping to raise my brothers. I think it paid off.
