I'm sitting here with my breast pump trying to get labor started, but I notice that right after the suction stops if actually blows air back at my nipple. I thought I was just losing suction for some reason, but after adjusting a bit and not fixiing the issue I took the tube off and sure enough it sucks then blows (stay clean there ladies, lol).

Is that something I can fix? My pump is seriously over 10 years old. I didn't even do the math until recently. It's a PIS.

Umm. Sadly I never used my pump enough to really get familiar with it. But it sounds to me that there would be something malfunctioning with the membrane that is supposed to create suction. Maybe that can be replaced? Maybe?

Depending on the kind you have my Medela has a membrane on the cups that can go bad and cause air leaks and are easy to replace. Maybe that is it? These things Extra Valves & Membranes (2/pack) - Medela
