I need to be thrifty, but so far 2012 is quite spendy! We're putting a bathroom in our basement and having to buy new baby stuff. I'm trying to get back into couponing for food, but I'm not great about it.

We are planning to finally work out a budget this year. We've realized that we'd far rather use our "extra" $ for vacations and nice things rather than wasting it like we have been lately. You know...hookers and blow. Or fast food and conveniences.

Umm, I go to Costco????? I figure I have a family of five, so I should buy in bulk, but then I end up finding all sorts of other fabulous things and my "bargains" kind of go out the window! Story of my life with my shopping though! I get great deals on clothes and things, but then I buy a LOT of them. I love it, but the hubby not so much!

that's how I am... Juliet has a lot of clothes... but I get them all for great deals! I'm trying to resist buying more for the summer since I'm pretty sure she has enough (plus a birthday at the beginning). I've also gotten all her "big" toys secondhand.

I'm not letting myself buy clothes right now. And figures, I just spent the morning reading fashion blogs and drooling over spring collections. Grr.

I joined SuperPoints. A lady in my DD's PR paid for her whole Christmas using SuperPoints, CrowdTap, and SwagBucks. Right now I've got $10 in Amazon card from SuperPoints, $36 Amazon gift Card from CrowdTap, and $25 from SwagBucks. And that was from not trying that hard at all. So this year I want to try using these things to pay for bigger items. I need to get Coby a Britax Frontier85 for DH's truck. Right now my goal is to get the $200 I need for that by May.

Super Points- You get an email daily with a random amount of points (I've gotten up to 200 points in the email). Then there's the lucky button that you get 30 spins a day that you can get random amount of points. You can get gift cards or even paypal money. You need a referal link or code to join. I linked 10 below. Each one can only be used once.

Swagbucks- just down load the toolbar and use that as your search engine and can start earning points that way
Earn Reward Points and Redeem Them For Free Stuff at Swagbucks.com

CrowTap- Login daily and do qiuck hits to get actions. Actions can get you $1. This is Hubby's account link I hit my invites already.
Crowdtap - Where Consumers and Brands Collaborate

Edited to add if you sign up for SuperPoints fill out the profile and you get 25 bonus points.

LOL! That's why I have a Suburban! I'm partially serious there. In my van, I had one kid in the far back and that left me no room for my BOB AND a Costco run full of huge bulk purchases! Hehe.

I'm not very good at being Thrifty. Besides shopping sales for Kate's clothes and stuff. I need to cut down on my shopping. and really I need to go over out monthly budget and figure out why we're down so much each month (probably: groceries and shopping) and then balance it out again.

Money kind of sucks right now because of xmas, my college tuition bill, and DH needs a new tablet computer before he goes away in March. *sigh*

I also shop all year for Christmas/birthdays. Walmart had 50% off some of the toys so I bought birthday present for parties we go to every year except for the two in Nov and two in Dec. I got 7 birthday presents for less than $50 total, but they are nice gifts. I also have been on the lookout for Christmas presents.
