How many words does your LO say now?

So remember around 2 months ago I posted about how AB said around 40 words? 2 months later I've lost count at 120! And we are getting short sentences.
What are yours doing?

Kate had a major verbal explosion between 18 and 19 months... I stopped writing them all down, because it seems like she repeats everything we say! She now says words like Cheewios, Elmo, cracker, water, milk.... and so on. She picks up new words super fast now. She can name almost all the letters of the alphabet, and we're working on counting to 5.

A couple months ago I counted around 30. At her 18 month visit I said she probably says around 50 and the dr looked at me like I was nuts and said they look for about 10 words at that age. Now she says a few more and repeats a lot, but I haven't counted recently. She's just 19 months old as of yesterday, so she's on the young end of the group, but I feel like she's really far behind when I hear of kids doing 4 word sentences and stuff! She will string together "more" or "please" with what she wants, but not much more than that.

I've lost count. We pick up a few new ones probably every day, but it's like she tries them out just to see if she can say them, and then figures she's done with that word. Not a lot of consistency. She's not really a chatty girl. I'd put her regular word count at about 50, and not many short phrases yet.

Zoe's a chatterbox. A while ago I stopped counting at close to 200, and she says so many more since. She's really starting to put words together now, like this morning she said "there you go mama". She knows all her friends and most of their parents and can say the names clearly - Graydon, Neal, Eva, Edgar, Vincent, Henner, Ryan, Ellin, as well as most of the characters in her favourite show In the Night Garden - Upsy Daisy, Iggle Piggle, Makka Pakka, Ninky Nonk etc. - not necessarily easy names! We can flick through picture books, and she can name pretty much everything. She also picks up on things like emotions - if she sees a sad face in a book, she says "sad", usually followed by "better" and she tries to give it kisses better.

The little boy next door who is Zoe's best buddy is also quite advanced with his language, and also speaks German as well as English, so I kinda forget that this isn't "normal"!

G is super chatty with us too. He's just getting good at the sentences now though. Not as good as Zoe though...she's super awesome with words it sounds like. G does name all of the In the Night Garden characters though too Very useful vocabulary.
He will say pretty much anything we ask him to try saying now. In fact he just yelled "Nicole?" across the yard. However I understand him far more than anyone else. Unky Miney for example is Uncle Ryan...not everyone may know that.

Also amazing is Kate doing all the letters...I haven't even thought to start that yet. What a smarty pants.

Funny...I was going to ask this very question last night, but got too tired...get out of my head!

I'm impressed you know In the Night Garden! It was on tv in Australia when we were last there, and my mum had a bunch of books. We got DVDs and books since, but either borrowed them from Aussie friends, or bought them from Australia.

He LOVES that show and does kisses for Upsy Daisy and does a Makka Pakka dance. I'm even on the mailing list in case they ever come to do a show in Toronto...sad, but true. We also have two books, the Pontipine toy and we missed out on buying the last Makka Pakka so that's still on the list. Oh...we have a Pinky Ponk too.

Crikey... Zoe just counted to six in Spanish. She can't even do that in English (at least not without missing a number or two).

Hijaks are good! and crikey giggle I'd love to actually hear you say that!
I love the empathy! The cat got hurt and AB shhhhed her and told me to give her a boob LOL!
Ab is trying to count 1 2 2 2 3 1 1 LOL and working on letters. I love that she says people's names too - it makes them so happy! Today we walked by our friends house and she kept repeating the kids names.

I haven't counted with Mason. He was saying things like "Whas dat?" at 12 months and he's picked up plenty of words along the way, but I've seen a slow down. He has constant ear infections once again this winter, and I'm sure that's messing with his speech. He's getting tubes pretty soon. The same thing happened with Jackson. I'm not worried at all though, because he easily says at least 50 and some sentences in there too. He just hasn't progressed so much. I also think it's due to his sister who talks 900 miles an hour, all day long and NEVER lets the poor kid get a word in! I'll ask him a question and Avery immediately answers for him! With a sister like that, how on earth is a kid supposed to learn to talk!?? His newest thing is doing animal sounds though. He's doing great with that.

The twins both learned to count in Spanish before English, all thanks to Dora!

She says a TON now. If you remember at her 18 mo we were very worried about her. I have no clue how many she says now. She repeats everything we say and uses probably a good 50 words on her own. She's just started to say two word sentences here and there.

Ashton must be the odd one out.
Literally ALL he says is mama, dada, Ry Ry, Nanna, Granddad and bubba.
He has not said anything new in 6 months.

It makes for a super quiet kid, but has me worried.

This is Kate too. She says a hanful of words and that's it. Mama, Dada, kitty cat, Gub Gub (referring to get favorite gummy bear video), Nana, Papa, nana (for banana), toe. That's about it...
