I know that we all experience different degrees of winter where we live, but I need ideas.

What do you do with your LO to get them outside during the winter?

I hate bundling G up and keeping him in his stroller when I know he really needs to run around and exercise. We took him out in his sled the other day and he enjoyed getting out and pushing it around the park. He went down a little hill and was ok with it but fairly unimpressed really. He can't walk very well with the whole boot set up. We're considering the zoo for one day next week.

Anything else you guys do with your little people to get them out during my not so favourite season or should I just move to FLorida?

HAHA...no wintertime outdoor entertainment here! As close as they can get is looking out the window! I'm joking...slightly. It can get pretty cold here, snowy and on top of it we have a lot of wind. I don't take Mason out in it unless we are running errands or something, but the twins do go outside if it's a decent day out.

move to Florida We hope to be there by next winter (supposedly..)

But in general, I haven't really taken Juliet out this winter, but that's more because I haven't had a chance. On the weekends, we're busy doing so much other stuff. If it's nice out I know DH has taken her up to our neighbor's swingset/slide a few times, but I've stayed in to do housework. She also goes to a swim class Saturday mornings now and I know that exhausts her, so she does get physical activity in.

Our problems isn't really the cold itself, but the soaking wet and then the cold. We're lucky in that we don't get much snow, but when you're tiny, a 40 degree day with soaking rain is just as bad. I will say the zoo in the wintertime with a toddler is AWESOME. We took Eliza last weekend. She wasn't remotely interested in the animals, but there was a lot of stuff to climb on and that kept her very, very happy. And I think I counted maybe eight other people there (almost all of them also had toddlers) so she pretty much had the run of the place.

We also did the aquarium which is free for kids under 3, and we have a membership to the children's museum. We haven't taken full advantage of that one, though, because of the difficulty of bundling her up, carrying everything, and taking the bus. It wears me out just thinking about it.

Our libraries are great and the community centers have toddler gyms that cost $2 a day, but we almost never do those, either. Again, with the bus. And even though I'm not a germaphobe, those places are literally dripping with snotty children. You're pretty much asking for a cold just by thinking about going.

Poor baby. Mama's a shut-in.

You know that every time you post about moving to FLorida I'm going to throw out another hint about my open invite right?

Danielle: I feel the same weird germophobic way about those play gym things. The worst part is that I'm most worried about me getting it. I know if G gets a cold I will care for him, love him up and bf him and he will fight it. If I get it...no one cares! I'm a bad mama.

I am planning to take him to a germ room this week anyway though.

My OH wants to take him to the dog park but I insist on G being worn or carried there. I love dogs but I don't trust them near my little person's little face.

The empty zoo idea still sounds most appealing.
