It's been a really long time since we've done a post about our kiddos' bedrooms, play spaces, etc. If you're like me, you've rearranged about a thousand times as your toddler's interests have changed. I know a lot of you have even gotten toddler beds!

This week we're FINALLY getting some shelves put up and I've got a few of these coming to organize toys and clutter. Once that's all done I'm going to take a few pictures to share how we work with our (very small) space. I'm always looking for inspiration! And I'm a bit nosy, lol.

So ladies, take some pictures! I wanna peek into your LO's world!

Omg! I feel SO bad...we've been in the new house for about 2 months and I STILL haven't finished putting his room together. He's got some painted solid color walls, but that's about it. I think I'm lagging because:

1) I'm deciding if its time to move onto toddler/lil boy room. Right now he still has his "nursery" decor.

2) Maybe I should move him into the other bigger room and start from scratch with decor - then baby #2 will have his room. (not currently pg)

I'm also really trying to create play space for him without it being an explosion all over the house...so we have a nice storage divider that houses all his toys downstairs but it also serves as a nice living room piece.

I'll have to pics in a bit, will post later!

Ummmm Kate's really hasn't changed since she was a baby. Though there is more stuff piled in the cosleeper (to keep it out of grabby hands). And there's nothing at all on the bottom two shelves of her bookcase.

We'll be rearranging it soon to accommodate a second dresser in there... not sure what to do about shelving.

I won't have pics until after Sunday, because that's when my friend's husband is coming over to help with the shelves. DH tried, but he butchered the wall and got a screw stripped and stuck in one of the shelves. Fantastic.

Jeanette, I say just go ahead and move him to the big room! Seems like so much less work later, no?

This is our living area, which is where Zoe spends most of her time playing when we're home

The toy/book wall

The bigger stuff - the table and chair has a grill bit on the other side with a "sink" grill, fridge and oven. It was for outside, but we brought it in for winter. It's turned out well, she sits on the seat, and eats her snacks up there, which saves the carpet a bit.

And looking back the other way. There's another couch to the immediate left of the picture, which is the edge of the room.

Our entire house looks like G's space...other than his room. Not much happening in there other than putting his clothes away and the occasional change.

The plan is for my OH to build something like these for better toy storage in the living room where he plays.

Well right now Colton has taken over the living room with his toys etc. It drives me nuts! I hate it. We have a perfectly good spare bedroom that he could have ALLLLLLLLLL to himself but that would involve my MIL actually doing something about the humungo, heavy as hell, 20 year old craftmatic bed that's in there! I've practically begged her to get it out so I can make it a playroom for Colton. My daughters futon and dresser is also in there along with Colton's changing table and cloth diapers. The bed takes up a whole wall.
So right now we have one of those 4 shelf, bin organizer for most of the little toys, 2 fabric collapsible bins for toys in front of the TV and the rest is wherever We also have a small house/living space.

We got Mason a bunk bed and a new dresser a week and a half or so ago, but of course the headboard is damaged, so we (as in DH...hehe) can't put it up yet! Once I get it all set up, I'll take a pic. Maybe I'll take a pic of it now too, IF I can remember!

Juliet's room is pretty much the same. She doesn't play in there, so no toys or anything. Our living room is small and overrun by toys. We have a toybox that is full, with a few toys on top, a small chair, the big fisher price learning house, 2 bins of books and a few other small toys that sit out.

I have the majority of Eliza's toys in her room so that we make it a point to turn off the TV in the living room and go play. It's a good change of scenery since we spend so much time indoors. Right now her kid table and easel is in the living room and all of her art supplies are EVERYWHERE, and it's driving me nuts! She doesn't really play with the easel much at all, but I'm hoping once I get her shelves up and her art/craft stuff organized I can make it a more inviting space. I think I'll be moving the easel into her room and using the tubtrugs in the living room to hold smaller toys. I don't have space for it to all go in one place! I'm also trying to figure out where to keep her books and set up a designated reading area. Right now that's next to her crib in her room but that'll change this week, too.

I get really, really excited to reorganize things around here. DH just rolls his eyes because I've always got a new scheme in my head. Clutter drives me C R A Z Y!

All of Kate's toys are in the living room. Just spare toys in her room. I really need to take the floor mattress out of her room so we have more room to play in there... Like you said, Danielle, we need a change of scenery! With such a small house we spend all day in the living room, with toys everywhere. (I tend to put the toys away a few times a day to at least keep a semblance of order. And she prefers pulling them down to play anyways... if they're on the floor already they tend to get ignored!) We just really need to clear out all the junk/storage from her room to make it more usable... it's just sleeping/storage space right now.

I finished Eliza's room! There are a zillion pictures so bear with me:

Busy busy!

Finally, shelves!

Easel and chalkboard:

Unfinished paintings I started way back when I was pregnant:

Reading spot:

Vintage chenille bedspread, waiting for her big girl bed someday:

This is how teeny tiny her room is. Sigh.

And finally, the new toy storage setup in the living room. I can breathe now.

Danielle, I loooove her room!!! Kate's is tiny too. Do you actually use it a lot, then?? Maybe I should start working on making Kate's room more usable by her instead of storage....

Thanks! We do use it a lot, now. It was pretty much just for sleep and storage until Christmas, when her toys REALLY started taking over. Since we live in just a 2 bedroom apartment I really had to get serious about making the best of all available square footage. Her "mindless" independent toys are in the living room so she can occupy herself while I'm cleaning, cooking, etc. and we take frequent breaks in her room for short activities like puzzles, books, play dough and coloring. Having it broken up that way has made a huge difference in how our days go.

YAY! Her room is so colorful and fun! I will upload some from Violets room. We do use it quite a bit. Danielle - where are the shelves from? We have a shelving shortage in my house and I really like yours...

I Love Eliza's room, and don't worry, Ashton's is much smaller.

Ashton's room is the same as it was when he was born more or less, the toys are in the living room because there is no room in the bedroom to play.

We only have the living room gated on the one side, he has full run of the house but the gate is there to stop the toys spilling over into the hall that leads to the front door.
