Hi mama! I know you are super busy now (as if you weren't before ) I'm just wondering how Ms. Karaline is. And how mama is. And Kate. And and and... Hope you are doing well! Do you feel like a pro or is the baby stage new each time? Breastfeeding? Sleeping?

I am doing good! Although I have been up since 3am! Oh, the days of having a newborn. Thank you for asking about me! Miss Karaline is doing well too. She is gaining weight and getting chubby. Breastfeeding is just okay. She still has a funky latch. It isn't painful anymore so it's too time consuming and bothersome to make her latch correctly each time, so I don't bother. I don't know if it's causing her to be this way or she would do this anyway... but she will nurse for a a few mins and sometimes she loses suction so she just falls asleep. I try to lay her down and she pops right back up and wants to nurse... but not really. This back and forth usually takes an hour or two before she either starts to really eat or she really falls asleep. Drives me nuts. So I have started pumping and want to see if she will eat better off a bottle. Not that I want to EP but there are times where I just need her to eat, fill up and be done with it!

Other than that issue, life is kind of back to normal. There are little nuances to each child, but you learn to not totally stress out about them like you do with your first. I can totally see how this BFing issue could totally derail someone from nursing. So in that regard, yes its like old hat. But bonding with another baby NEVER gets old!

Oh man... the on-off thing would drive me nuts. How frustrating!!!

I'm totally looking forward to bonding with a new baby. And I feel SO much less stressed and worried about details this time.

Maybe once you really get a schedule and your hormones are making you feel a little less... [insert your favorite postpartum word here ] you will feel like you actually have the time to work on the latch.

On off on off would drive me crazy too but she's gaining weight so something is working!

I'll bet the bonding part is so awesome every time...jealous!
The nursing part sounds frustrating. I was hoping that you'd say it just gets easier every time. The good news is though that you already know that it time it will get easier with her too.
KUP on how you guys are doing! I love hearing about the new babies.
