Has your little person repeated anything they shouldn't have yet?
I will completely admit to needing to work even harder on watching my mouth around him..not as much as his dad though!
Anyway...the other day I dropped something while I was cooking and said "shoot" (I really did, surprisingly I caught myself while my sweet man was by me). G was in his chair and must have said "shoot, shoot, shoot" for a good 10 minutes while I was cooking. It's crazy how quickly they pick up things we say.
I am just waiting for the moment I slip up for real and he catches me.

I need to start watching my mouth, Xander doesn't say many words now, and won't repeat anything even if I try to coach him right now. But he really pays attention to me because he tries to copy my every movement!!

I hear you Danielle. I really really hear you. I'm just afraid no other kids would be allowed to play with my little trucker if we weren't careful. Now I want to meet up with you even more!

Today Sam said "Touch Town!" and Violet repeated him CLEARLY. Seconds later he threw down an F Bomb and I was just waiting for it but we narrowly escaped.
We both have a pretty bad mouth. I think I do more because of him... I can turn it on and off pretty quickly.
Honestly, I would much rather Violet spit out sh-- than "retard" or "homo" or some of the degrating things that people say. DH and I don't talk like that so it's more likely she will say dammit and shock the little old lady sitting next to her

Well I've gotten really bad the last few years, even DH brings it up. Colton has copied me saying "God" and "****". He also copies my ranting and raving at DH by throwing his hands up and jibber jabbering loudly! lol
I'm not proud of this.

DH always said that I was the one who'd have to watch my mouth, but it turns out that HE'S the one who needs to watch it! He doesn't swear too much, but he has plenty of other choice phrases (usually filthy ones!) that he says on a very regular basis! The twins have tried using a couple of daddy's genius phrases a couple times but I squashed that quickly and they've never tried it again.
Me on the other hand, I swear constantly and I'm absolutely floored that none of my kids have ever repeated any of my bad words! I'm pretty good about keeping it clean around the kids, or saying it extremely quietly! Lol. Sometimes those words are just necessary and nothing else will do!
My mom taught me all of the awesome swear words I know! When I was 3, I was playing in the sandbox and there were a ton of bugs, so I said "D*mn bees!". My mom was totally horrified, but it does make for a cute story!

so far we've been pretty good. I don't really say anything bad unless I'm really upset/mad/frustrated. Juliet isn't quite repeating everything we say yet.

I have a bad swearing habit. She repeated me calling our beagle an a** the other day and my mom said sh*t in front of her and she repeated that for a few minutes over and over. I'm surprised she hasn't done f bomb yet bc that's a favorite of mine!

Mark is repeating lots of words these days, so I'm sure it won't be long before we have him repeating those words/phrases too. DH & MIL will still swear in Greek sometimes in front of him, but for the most part we've all been trying to watch our language.

Thankfully we don't swear much in our house. our biggest problem is if our 5 year old is listening to us and we talk about how we didn't like dinner at grandma's house our 5 year old will tell her the next time we see her so we have to watchthe content of what we say.

Oh yes....the reporter. That will be an especially dangerous time for my OH when he starts retelling stories.

(Hi! *waves* I've been MIA, but I just checked in today and had to jump in...)
Maya says "shoot!" a lot, and yesterday she repeated "sonofab****!" after I let it slip.
Generally we try to keep it to "Oh no!" and she'll bust out a "Poor baby!" when she's upset about something.

I've got two, five year olds doing that too!!! I miss the days where the kids were all oblivious and I could talk about anything without having to mouth it, whisper it, write it or spell it!! Those games start to not work anymore at this age! D*MN!!! Haha.
