What does your LO think of it?
Juliet thinks it's pure torture. She tried to bite me tonight while I was trying to trim her nails

I seriously never have to trim Claire's nails. Her nails are so fine and thin that they just kind of break off. Every once in a while I will see one that is hanging there and you can just pull the end off. Its the same for her hands and feet. I always check them and they are like paper thin. IDK...maybe she is lacking in some sort of vitamin or something?

Funny enough I just clipped G's before putting him to bed tonight. He is fine with it when I get out the clippers and hold his fingers, but he just HATES being restrained in any way and this includes me holding his hand still for clipping. The one thing that works a little bit is if I make it a big event. I count "1,2,3..." as if something really exciting is going to happen and he falls for it most of the time.
G's nails are really hard and I've taken several in the eye when they're clipped.

Xander thinks its really interesting. I think because he sees me doing it to myself, and he tries to copy my every move. He carries around my purse and walks around in my shoes. And my my moms, he found a nerf dart from one of my little brother's nerf guns and was rubbing it on his lips like lipstick!! xD He even grabbed my nail file and was rubbing it on his hand! He also offers me his feet after I'm done with his fingers. Nail trimming goes smoothly in this house.
Haha, this kid is gonna "catch the gay". LOL! (just kidding, and I mean no offense in any way...)

Kate hates it. It's not so much the nail clipping that's the problem, but like G she HATES being restrained. So she's happy to sit on my lap watching TV while I do it.... as long as I don't hold her hand still. Which, uhh, yeah.... can't do it without holding your hand. She she wiggles a lot and yanks her hand away and will get really peeved if I continue to restrain her. Distraction works best. But gah it's still frustrating.

Zoe's not too bad. I generally do it while she's in DHs lap reading stories before bed. Any other time and she squirms and gets annoyed. Toenails she hates being done - she's got ridiculously sensitive toes, and weirdo toenails that kinda stick to the toe, so I need to get up under it which drives her nuts

lol I did Colton's tonight too before bed Usually he doesn't care for it but tonight he actually held his hand out for me to do it! Now toenails are a whole other beast! He HATES his toenails clipped. I usually have to lay him down and wrap a leg over him to keep him from kicking so I can clip them.

Mason thinks he has far better things to be doing! He never used to care about me trimming his nails, but that's not the case anymore. He tries every maneuver he can to escape the situation. Of course his finger nails grow ridiculously fast!
And the toes....ha! I'm lucky if I can get his toenails cut anymore! He is SO, SO ticklish and won't even let me hold on to a toe without squirming and giggling!

Mark's has finger/toe nails like me, and they grow so fast and are hard. I too have caught one in the eye. Ouch! He's pretty good though with letting me hold out his hands, he likes to watch. His feet are more tricky, so I usually have DH hold him while I tackle those. I also find it easier to use the nail scissors that have the slight curve to the blades instead of the clippers.

Juliet's nails grow so fast, I have to trim them at least once a week! I do think it's the confinement thing/holding her down that she hates, but she won't let me do it otherwise. We do her toes while she's eating strapped in her chair so it's only the foot we have to hold down.

That's a great idea to trim the toes while strapped in the chair. I will definitely remember that one.

^^ That's how I cut Eliza's hair--in her chair, with a movie on. As for nail trimming, she HATES it. It's the hand-holding that makes her mad, too. I have two pairs of clippers I use; one normal one and one baby-safe one. I bring out both of them and let Eliza play with one while I use the other. When her attention turns to the one I'm currently using, I let her play with that one and switch it out for the other. It's usually enough distraction to get the job done, but man is it still a struggle!

Oh yeah, toes are BAD. Kate is major ticklish like I am so she'll giggle and kick for a while but then gets MAD if I keep grabbing her toes.

Coby will let me do his fingers no problem but he's usually watching Mickey when I do it. I don't do his toes that often, only when I see needed. I use the baby nail clipper that has the magnify glass on it. I don't use that part but love the clipper.
For Lanie I use one of those little nail scissors I picked up for $1 at Dollar Tree.

Addyson's nails grow very fast. I could clip them twice a week. I just sit her between my legs on the floor and clip away. She usually doesn't swirm until we get down to the last finger nail. Toes are harder because she's ticklish. I have gotten rather good at it so I can do it in only a few minutes. I like the baby clippers with the extra long thumb grip thing.
