I need some ideas. Kate has a small bookcase in the living room with storage for her toys in baskets and the bottom shelf is full of books she likes to read right now. That is fine.
The problem are all her other books.... you know, kids books that are for "a little later" but not like 10 years down the road or anything. I have Little Critter books, fairy tails, etc... stuff that she doesn't have the attention span for yet. They're currently all on the top shelf of a bookcase... but we have to get rid of the bookcase to put Ember's dresser in there.
So. Where do you keep your kids' books? Packed away somewhere? A closet? All of them out for the kids to attack... errr, treasure?
I'm thinking of moving them and her scrapbook and stuff into her (tiny) closet. It's not like I use it for much clothes right now. Maybe I should look up closet organizing systems. Ohhh that could be dangerous.

Books kinda take over my entire house in baskets. They are just kinds out all over for the kids to read but they are used to it since I have tons of books all over too. Favourite kid books have been replaced through too much loving through three kids. I also have some books packed away though as well since they go with teacher things - like valentines, community helpers etc.

We have books EVERYWHERE. I try to shove them all in a cabinet in their playroom, but they never stay there! Then I tried to put up one of those adjustable wall shelving units, but it became something for Jackson to climb! Life with boys!!!

Most of Juliet's books are in two baskets in the living room. Books for later are on her bookshelf in her room, but we don't spend any time in there.

The books Eliza is currently reading are all in a basket next to the sheepskin on her bedroom floor for full access. She's going through a paper-tearing phase right now, so she's got a lot of books up and out of her reach. I still want them out, though, so they don't get lost with all the other crap we have stored. And because they're cute. So, I put them high up on the new shelves in her room. The unit I got is from Ikea, and I think it's technically meant to go in the kitchen. What I love about it is that it's really tall and narrow, with a ton of shelves (6 or 8, I can't remember.) We have a lot of vertical wall space, but most shelving units that will actually hold a decent amount of stuff are really wide and we don't have the space for that. Plus she can reach the bottom shelves, so I put things I want her to have access to there, and stuff that requires supervision goes way up high. And it was only 40 bucks, so that was awesome.

We have books all over the place. They're getting out of control. The ones for later, I've put up in various closets. The ones he can play with now, some are in his rooms, especially the ones he likes at bedtime. Then there are some in both cars, Yia Yia's car, the living room, dining room, diaper bag, etc. I wish I was joking, but I'm not. He loves his books. His fave auntie gave him alot of the small board books so he loves to carry them around too. DH & I just got a bookcase to put together for his room (with a tether strap to strap to the wall). That should hopefully start containing some of them.

Hmmm. We have a major book problem with our books too... most of them are in the garage right now. I guess I need to get on DH to turn that garage into a library so they can all go out there. I might just put her spare books with ours.
Love the hanging book sling. Cool idea!

We have books everywhere. So many in fact that we lose books all the time and are still hunting for a library book that's been missing for some time.
I am liking that book sling. Thinking I could handle that.
I am in love with this shelf but with the price tag it won't be happening unless I get really talented all of a sudden...or win the lottery.

LOVE the tree bookshelf!! The books we're reading now are in a couple of different baskets. The books for later are in a bookcase in the playroom up high where she can't reach.

Same with the Portland store!!! I sent my sister to go get some for me! And they don't carry them online either!
A friend of mine used rain gutters for her book racks. Another Pinterest find.
