Your best organization tip.
Whether it's life organization, home organization, little person organization...any type of organization. I want to hear it. Please share...

Nothing fancy here. I'm just a list maker for everything. When I grocery shop I make my lists according to the layout of the store, so that I'm not jumping back and forth on my list.

Throw it all away. Thats as good as it gets for me...I need to hire one of those professional organizers from hoarders but for opposite reasons. They need to help me organize so my house doesnt look so messy and I don't throw all my things away.

Sterlite/Rubbermaid bins. They're cheap but durable and hold a ton of stuff. We keep one in the living room and at the end of the night all of Addyson's toys go into the bin.
Every now and then I will throw out things that don't match up or are broken. It's easy to accumulate things that aren't really toys. Like plastic cups, balls, etc. that don't really go with anything but she plays with so watch out for those things.

Nothing fancy here either. Tons of little baskets on the bathroom shelves, and the big colorful buckets for Eliza's toys in the living room. Those have helped a lot; it's been really easy to keep her blocks/play food/other random toys separate and accessible.

Lots of baskets here too. Almost everything in our basement that's in a rubbermaid container like christmas decor has a picture label. I take a pic of what decorations I'm putting in the bin and tape the pic to the box so I know which bins I need to get out when the holiday comes since we don't use all of our decorations every year. Kids clothes and other more self-explanatory things just get a regular label maker label.

Oh...I like the picture label idea. Smart!
Once I get things pared down more I will be getting more baskets etc. too.
This house...no storage. It's crazy. Things you don't think about buying your first home. No linen closet, no basement storage since it's a raised bungalow, attic is tiny crawl space with just rungs, no walk in closets and the tiny closets there are just suck. No medicine cabinet.
OK, I'm done...thanks for reading.
I look forward to reading more ideas here.

Ohhhh yes, the label maker!! I love mine! I also color code my storage bins so I know what's in there.

Baskets/bins and labels. DH doesn't entirely get this concept but he humors me. And the bins are for specific purposes.... you don't throw toiletries in the basket with my hair stuff. Have a designated spot for everything. It's really hard in my small house and all the "extras" that don't fit either get tossed or put in the basement or something. But when everything has a niche or a basket then it stays much neater.

I knew someone that kept all her recipes in a photo album. It was so nice to look through. Super organized. She catagorized them by type as well.
Another girl I know uses a program to type in all the meals she wants to prepare and it creates a shopping list for you.
If you are a dinner maker I think this one would really pay for itself. Imagine Planning ahead. For DAYS on what to have for dinner.

I want to be an organized meal planner like that but it just never works for me. I end up getting off track and then through trying to get back on track end up wasting tonnes of food ingredients. It does look very ideal though. My cooking time is part of my creative time too so that kind of puts a damper on that. I do need to get my recipes more organized though.
Still loving the ideas...

These are all great ideas. I love my label maker, and tend to go overboard with it. I also have my clothes shorted by type and color within type. To me, it's easier to arrange & find what I want. Also, have you checked out the Housekeeping, Home Decor & Organization board here on JM? There's some great stuff there too.

The Family Dollar has some great little bookshelf/storage units that are the perfect height for a little person! And some of those little fabric bins that make it easy to corral little toys. I have a little collection of bookshelves....
I have an old house too with next to no storage space and I've had to mount up shelves and stuff on the wall. That makes a big difference! So to the Sterilite drawer organizers. As long as you don't mind the plastic look they're great!
