DD is 14 months old...and she is interested in using her potty (for about the past 3 weeks). I initially put her on it before bath time, and she started to pee on it the second time I did it.
I found I was missing opportunities--I thought she was playing with her potty, but I found she was going pee (sometimes poop) in her diaper when she was in there.

I decided to put training panties on her today and see what happens (saves a few precious seconds over taking a diaper off). She pooped in them once, but so far she went pee a couple times--she goes into the bathroom on her own without prompting--I follow her and put her on the potty.

Any tips since she is young? I am following her cues. I don't make her sit on the potty if she doesn't want to/let her go when she wants. I'm ok if she loses interest...I would much rather change a diaper than use a public restroom!

i have a tip dip the potty chair and used the real toilet or buy a cushion one for her to put on the real toilet i spent 30 dollars on a potty chair when i felt my daughter was ready but it didnt do any good she lost interest within a week
in my opinion a child learns faster and easier on a real toilet

I'd ditch it, too. Shar prefers to be on the big potty, she gets all excited and throws a fit if I make her sit on her little potty. good luck, I had my daughter all but potty trained at 16 months. I was down to maybe one accident a day and then her dad and I split up and within a month she had regressed, I'm not sure if that's because daddy didn't put her on the potty or what
