I have stopped potty training. I still encourage him to go and about once a day he'll go on his own. I'm still talking to him about being a big boy and going in the potty and trying to make it a fun thing for him so he's not scared or regress from it. We plan on fully trying again in Aug. With the new baby that would be a better time.

I made the same decision to stop for a while because it just wasn't getting anywhere. I've just restarted and it seems to be going better.

We've done this several times. Mainly because he wasn't ready yet.

You will know the signs he is ready.

My son in the last couple of months will tell us when he needs to be changed.

We actually just started potty training for good...because I was finally ready (my mom said both mommy and kiddo have to be ready for the process because it's a long, frustrating process).

The same thing happened with my son and I. It's just so hard getting them interested sometimes! I stopped for awhile and then got inspired to go back when I found something I thought might turn it into a game for him. They were these odd floating targets that were safe to flush down the toilet. They seemed kind of goofy, but he liked them a lot. Getting him to want to quit using them was actually the hardest part I went out and found the site where I originally ordered them from. It's called TinkleTimeTargets.
