DD is 18 months old, and I'm trying to start potty training her but have no idea where to start. She has her potty chair and she knows when it's time to go to the bathroom. This is my first rodeo so can anyone give me any tips or advice?

1. When you are ready go straight to panties even at 18 months. Now at bedtime and nap time diapers are ok.

2. Use an egg timer and let it "tell"her when it is time to go. When she wakes up take her to the potty, wet or not. If she goes set the timer for 45 mins to an hour. If she doesn't and is wet or doesn't and is dry set it for 15 mins and take her every 15 mins until she goes. It is VERY time consumig, but I use this at the daycare center I work in and it works!!

3. Use something as a reward that she likes but ONLY gets when she goes potty. I suggest m&m's, smarties, stickers, anything like that. I always give one for pee and two for poop.

This is very time consuming but works very well.
Here is another shorter approach that a lot of people use.
Potty training in three days or less | BabyCenter

Hope this helps....feel free to ask any questions. I am on here quite a bit these days. Good luck.

Thank you so much! I am going to get her some new panties this week, I can't believe I have a baby that's ready to be potty trained. Where does the time go!?

I know it flies!!!!!!!
From watching kids there is a small window right around 18 months or so that they are ready and you can get them trained.....if you wait it takes until about 2 1/2 till they are ready to work on it again. GOOD LUCK!!!!
