My daughter, Samantha, just turned 2 in October. I just started potty-training her yesterday and she has had no accidents(except for 1 poopy accident)!!!!!!!!! If she needs to pee she'll run to her potty and go. And just tonight she pooped in the potty all on her own. So I'd say she's pretty much trained, at home anyway.
We went out and about today for the 1st time since she's being trained and she had 2 peeing accidents. I put stretchy pants on her and nothing else. No diaper or underwear. I figured that would help her, since wearing underwear could make her think she's wearing a diaper. And pull-ups is a diaper. So I don't like that idea. So the problem is, she doesn't tell me when she has to go potty while we are out. So my question is, how do I train her away from home? Should I just take her to the bathroom right when we get to a store? When will she start telling me she has to go?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thank you!!
Not sure if you still need advice, but I will go ahead and put it out there.
With my 2 year old daughter, I take her potty before we leave the house, then as soon as we get to where we are going and then again before we leave that place.
It is a ton of work, but they don't really know to tell you that they have to go at this point so even if she doesn't go I still take her. kwim?
Best of luck!
*Thank you *Kiliki* for the beautiful siggy!
My son took FOREVER to potty train. However, I did make sure he went before we left the house and I always made him try every hour or so. Sometimes they just have to be reminded when they are out because they just don't think about it! Good luck!
