I had an ultrasound at 13 weeks and my OB said 100% boy. I'm weary because 3-4 days prior a us tech. thought at first possibly boy parts but then confirmed it was the cord. I asked her to look again and she did 3-4x and confirmed it was most def the cord. My OB has been known to jump the gun with his predictions, but the second he turned the scan on he called it. I mean really at 13 weeks it's that obvious? He also questioned how the us tech did not see it and I told him that at first she thought it was a boy part also, but then realized it was without a doubt the cord. Should I get my hopes up for a girl? Either boy or girl is fine (my husbands is over the moon with the idea of another little boy in our family) but I just feel totally different this time around. Thoughts, previous experience?????
I would say wait for a more accuracy around 18-20 wks before you start buying things in gender color as some parents had it told early and it was incorrect some who were told boys had girls others who were told girls had boys. 18-20 wks are the most accurate. Getting a 3d u/s in the third trimester will be a more definition of accuracy.
