I am 6 1/2 weeks and at my first prenatal appointment the Dr. told me that there was a small spot where the placenta had separated from the uterus. He said that he didn't think it was going to cause a problem or a miscarriage and that I would have some bleeding. Since my appointment I have had some bloody discharge that has come and gone since Friday night. Has anyone else had this and should I be more worried?

I had a small tear like that at your exact week with my last baby. I did spot on and off, but by the 7thwk, the spotting stopped and we could no longer see the tear at the 9wk u/s. It's just where the baby implanted, they are very common.

This is very normal and may cause some bleeding but should not cause any real problems. There is a video that explains this well:
