I'm 32w5d with my first, and yesterday I went to the hospital for contractions. It was only false labor (thank goodness) but something the nurse did made me a little curious as my regular doctor has not done this yet.
She hooked me up to all the monitors, and after a few minutes, she looked concerned and asked if I knew what my blood pressure was before pregnancy.
I told her I didn't, all I know is that it was usually on the lower side. She checked my blood pressure again, checked the swelling I have on my ankles and hands, tested my reflexes and left the room.
She never asked for a urine sample though. I got a glimpse of the monitor and it said my heart rate was about 86 resting and my blood pressure was like 110/68. I thought that was normal?
She came back about 30 minutes later and acted like nothing happened. It scared me a little.
Was that blood pressure bad?
My next OB appointment is Tuesday if that will make any difference to the testing...
Your blood pressure was absolutly PERFECT! Those are some of the best numbers I have ever seen! Im not sure why the nurse looked concerned (maybe she messed up while taking your blood pressure then redid it and realized it was perfect?)
