i heard tums is safest but it is pregnancy category C while pepcid ac and zantac are pregnancy category B so i thought pregnancy category B was safer...i'm confused. i can't figure out what category gaviscon is. What do you pregnant ladies take out there for heartburn during your pregnancy?

Personally, I took water with a teaspoon of baking soda! You wouldn't want to over do it due to the soduim content though!

I would think Tums would be safer than pepcid and zantac. Where did you get your information? Would you mind sharing it?

I just googled pregnancy category for tums and it said pregnancy category C and then zantac and pepcid it said category B that's why I was confused because a pharmacist told me tums or rolaids would be the safest heartburn medicine and tums is on one of my old pregnancy over the counter in pregnancy lists. So I was surprised it was a category C.

Tums works best for fast relief. Changing your diet to foods that fight heartburn also works. I do a lot of fresh juicing of fruits and veggies and have virtually no heartburn this pregnancy.

Mommy of two, 3rd on the way.
