If you've been changing the litter box for a while chances are you've already caught the troublesome virus. There is a blood test you can have done to check to see if you've had it.
But yeah, wear gloves and a mask if you have to change it, and then wash your hands afterwards. Wash your hands before eating, or messing with your face after petting the cats. Once they have access to the counters, wash them before preparing food on them.
I've had to clean the litterbox since 18 weeks! It sucks. My MW is not concerned at all. I wear a mask and gloves and I'm careful. It's not like you'll get some poo on your hands and forget
Just wash your hands and stuff before eating. If I remember right your more likely to get toxo from undercooked meat than cat litter. And like Uncetain said - you've probably already got it before
Oh. And do it everyday. Which, with three cats you probably already do, but the virus takes 24-48 hours I believe so cleaning it everyday helps too
It sucks and when my DH comes back he knows he's getting litter duty for a year.
Excuse me if my typing is bad There's probably a baby in my arms.
