I have been experiencing pregnancy symptoms for the last two weeks such as constantly feel nauseous and occasionally throwing up, intense heartburn or indigestion that comes and goes, lower back pain constantly, body feeling tired constantly, extremely bloated constantly (jeans that fit for the past 3 years no longer fit in the past 3 weeks), weird pains/sensations in the stomach/abdomen area, slight cold that lasted only 2 days (just runny nose and cough), constipation/diarrhea (depending on the day/time), nipples sore to the touch, breasts sore when jumping. I never get sick and when I do I never experience all of these together. I had my last period on August 30th 2013 which was normal (possibly 2 days late but I don't know for sure). Now today (September 27th 2013) I am experiencing something that could be my period but it is accompanied by all of the above symptoms (except the cold). I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. Could I still be pregnant? And if not what other possible reasons could there be to explain why I am feeling this way?
Could be any number of things. Oftentimes it's easy to pay much closer attention to little things leading up to our period and think they are pregnancy symptoms, when really all along they were just pms symptoms that we'd never noticed before.
If you're having what you think is your period, AND a negative hpt, it's probably your period. Occasionally that will happen and someone finds out they're pregnant, but not usually. At this point, I would assume not pregnant unless something really tips you off, like a positive hpt or a missed period next cycle.
The thing that concerns me is that the only symptoms I feel before and when I get my period is that the day I get it I feel slightly bloated (absolutely nothing compared to how bloated I've felt the last couple weeks which gets worse daily) and a mild uncomfortable feeling in my abdomen.
Sometimes when we really want to be pregnant, any little change in body function we notice. You may be pregnant, but you may just be experiencing a later than normal cycle date. I would give it another week before testing again. Hcg levels take time to rise enough to be detected on a test strip. Hope all goes well for you!
