Has anyone experienced pregnancy after gallbladder removal? I had my gallbladder removed March 18th this year and my surgeon told us to wait 3 months before trying. Well we waited and now I'm 4 weeks 5 days preggo with my second. Just curious to know what I might experience. Any advice/info would be helpful.
I had my gallbladder removed October 2011 and got pregnant January 2012 with my first. Because the pregnancy slowed down my digestion I was able to eat more fats at a time than I could pre-pregnancy. However, it did not slow down my digestion quite as much during my second pregnancy. Just experiment, your bowels will let you know when you've gone overboard.
Yes you can go forward and give some healthy nourishment withvitamin as well as calcium which will not counter the issue of gallbladder asone can easily survey and reproduce even after gallbladder removal.
I had my gallbladder out a couple of years ago. I had a lot of bowel issues after, but pregnancy seemed to actually calm these issues down quite a bit. I would compare this pregnancy to my last, when I still had my gallbladder, and say that there is no difference other than the scars (they removed it laparoscopically) on my belly look kind of crazy all stretched out. Ha! Good luck to you! Best wishes!
