Have you or will you be creating anything for your little baby? Quilts? Crocheted blankets? Something with needlepoint? Nursery artwork or wall mural? Baby clothes? Knit booties/hat?
I made artwork for DS's nursery.
For DD's nursery, I painted the wood letters and dangled them from ribbon. But for DS's nursery, I wanted something different and more masculine. So, I got three canvases, pulled and stapled fabric on them that coordinated with his nursery colors, and painted a letter on each canvas to spell out his name. These went above his crib.
I also painted six silhouettes of jungle animals on six canvases for his nursery.
I made the animals where they were the silhouette and then I made some where the silhouette (solid paint color) was around the fabric animal (the invert of the sample shown in the link above).
I have gotten the stuff to make booties and a blanket, but I haven't started yet because I have to finish my son's hat first, and a hat for a friend due in March. But I figure I should be OK I still have till June.
I will be making a quilt for our babies bedding.. it'll cut down on costs not having to buy those crib sets. All I would have to do is buy sheets. I'll probably crochet a few blankets too. I'm not pregnant yet but I figure it'll give me something to do while i wait and making one for either scenario won't be hard I'll probably use them both eventually.

So many knitters and quilters here! I don't know the first thing about doing either! I've been lucky to have others who gave me quilts and knit blankets and booties.
I will be waiting till the baby is born and making the birth announcements along with MANY photos, because thats all I am good at. And I will scrapbook
i've crocheted a blanket for each of the kids and they all still have them and use them. so i'll do the same this time, which reminds me i need to go yarn shopping lol.

My house is starting to look like a craft store I have so much yarn! lol DH hasn't banned me from buying more yet! He says if it keeps me happy, he's happy!
Poor baby might be one of those kids that's made fun of by all the mommy-made stuff. I have till at least 1st grade! LOL!!!!
I have some sewing skills. I have a regular sewing machine and recently bought a serger. So far I plan to make the following:
2 baby quilts reconstructed from a quilt my grandmother made. It's a full size quilt but has some places in one corner where the fabric has worn completely out from use. I'm going to cut out 2 largish baby sized quilts from the good part and re-bind them.
A floor quilt/play mat. I have a bunch of left over I-Spy blocks from a quilt I made for someone else a few years ago. I'm going to mix them with some other random blocks like minky to construct a top. On the back/floor side I have a vintage blue/red cherries heavyweight tablecloth I'm going to use. I will put padding of some sorts in the middle.
I have a wood rocking chair my grandfather built that will go in the nursery, I'm going to make some kind of cloth tie on cover for the back once I find out the sex and pick a theme.
burp cloths - I'm going to take a bunch of cloth diapers and sew fabric on one side to make some of those fancy burp cloths.
Once I find out the gender I'll likely add to my list.
I'm currently working on a baby blanket using odd yarn leftovers (to get back into the swing of knitting) and depending on the outcome, I may just start over when I'm done!
On the long list of projects I hope to accomplish: knitted blankets/sweaters, artwork for the room, sewing projects like chair covers/curtains, I'd love to make a rag rug for the nursery, various soft toys, and like someone previously said: my kid might be made fun of for all the mommy-made stuff
