What was your favorite childhood birthday party? Why was it awesome?

I never had a birthday party. I was going to have a big one for my 8th birthday (because I was born on the 8th) and I was so excited, invited all of my friends from school and the neighborhood, but then my mother cancelled it and promised me we'd have it later in the summer.. but it never happened.

Actually, even though there were 5 kids in my family, the only birthday parties I can remember were one for my youngest sister and brother when they turned 5 (they're twins - and it wasn't anything big, just the family and grandparents at McDonald's) and for my mother when she turned 30. Kind of sad :/

I usually had joint birthday parties with my uncle because we share the same birthday. Of course, my parents were divorced so we did birthdays twice. I think the most memorable for me was one at my dad's house because my mom (stepmom) made me a cake that was right out of a magazine. It was so cool! It looked like a little windowbox filled with flowers.

On my mom's side, I had my 15th birthday at a skating rink and that was fun because all my friends came.
