Sort of. We'll be going to a family practice, but there are a few doctors there and I don't have particularly strong feelings about choosing one of them. I figure if there's a doctor I don't like for some reason, I just won't see that one anymore. If I have problems with all of them, we'll find somewhere else to go.
My kids have a pediatrician and I love her she is amazing. I have gone through a couple looking for the right one . I shop around and as soon as one messes up I move on. Well depending on the mistake. When you can't diagnosis chicken pox and I can we have problems.
We have an awesome ped. I picked her because of her (crunchy) reputation, and then I hated her because she talks over me (ALL THE FREAKING TIME), but now I love her again because she is SO good with E (who screams when most people come near her). Also, she encourages me to call her freaking cell phone with any problems I have at any time. And she calls back. Always. And if she can be fairly certain of what the problem is based on what I am describing, she will call an Rx into my local pharmacy so I don't have to brave the urgent care with my daughter.
She is teh awesome. Even if she does talk over me. What doctor these days lets you call their cell at midnight when your kid is puking? And it's not like she has a small practice!!
No and this is a sore subject here. My husband and I don't agree on our child's health care. I want natural and he wants traditional. For awhile we "compromised" be deciding to use my family doctor, but I'm not 100% happy with the idea.
Hopefully we don't have a sick kid so it becomes a non-issue.
