I'm so excited to say that I am finally pregnant!!!

My name is Elissa (30) and my DH is Chris (31). Chris & I have been together for 9 1/2 years and we've been married for 2 1/2 years. In October 2008, I stopped taking the birth control pill and we started our TTC journey.

I was experiencing short LPs and had a consultation appointment with a fertility specialist. The doctor wanted me to have one cycle of monitoring so asked that I contact them on my next CD1. I started experiencing spotting in the evening at 7DPO, which wasn't unusual given my short LPs. I also had a temp drop below my coverline! After spotting for 3 days, I was on JM on our weekly chat at my girls and they suggested that I test the following day if no AF (which would have made me 10DPO). I promised that I would test if my temps were back up in the morning - they were!

I continued to have spotting that finally stopped this week! It was clearly brown - not pinky...but was VERY concerning.

I went to a walk-in close to work to have a blood test to get my betas.... the first betas at 11DPO was 81!! I got a second one on 13DPO - 275 and my last one was this past Wednesday at 17DPO and it was 1769!!!!

Today - I am 4w6d!! My due date is May 9th, 2010 (according to FF)!! Can't wait for this spring baby! My first appointment with my doctor is on Wednesday, September 9th.

5 weeks, 2 days

Had a great weekend! So busy - and I'm SO tired! I was up 4 times last night to pee!!! It was one of my best friend's b-day parties on Sunday and we went out to party. She knows so it was easy to hide it... I was the designated driver! I took a couple of pics to pretend that I was drinking so when they got posted on facebook, there will be no questions (I'm almost always one of the drinkers!).

I don't really feel pregnant yet.... well... except for these bbs. I can see why Tonya was groping herself in the beginning! I had a couple of nasty headaches and a little bit of queeziness - but I hope that's all it is! Wish me luck!

I have my first appointment with my doc tomorrow afternoon. I'm not sure if I will stay with him or if he will refer me to a OB, I will find out soon!

I had my first appointment with my doctor today! It went quite well! He is referring me to an OB that is apparently AMAZING!
We went over some of the do's and don'ts - and my doctor said that you have to respect your pregnancy. If there's something your body doesn't want you to eat- you'll know it and have to respect it. Although I haven't had any m/s (YET! EEK) he prescribed me some stuff just in case... i filled the prescription also just in case... I figure it's better to have it then not.

So - I'm going to my doc every month until I get the appt with the OB. The doc said that he'll send me for an u/s around Nov 20th - at 18 weeks!?! I was like - NO WAY! That's TOO far away. I'll talk to him again at our next appt or to the OB when I meet him.

He told me to just relax... and then he looked at me and told me that I'm gonna be good at this... the whole pregnancy and being a parent! He made my day!
