I love having the convertible seats, but I do miss the infant carriers. They were so much easier to carry them around in them, but my boys are just too big for the infant carriers now. The convertible I have is the Evenflo Symphony. It also can be used as a booster up to 100 lbs, so if anything, I can use them for a long time. I just feel bad I have to wake them up every time they nap in the car and I have to take them out.

as soon as Levi can sit up on his own in the grocery cart/restaurant highchair he will be in a convertible seat....I DESPISE CARRYING AN INFANT SEAT....but I don't have enough hands to hold him every where we go
Reagan was switched at 2.5 months and Liam will go straight into a convertible. MAKE SURE THE HARNESS STRAPS ARE AT OR BELOW HIS SHOULDERS. Otherwise, he's not safe. You can come over to the Car Seat Safety Board if you have any questions.
We never used an infant seat with Hugo. We are very AP and carried/wore him if we went somewhere before he could sit up. We went into a restaurant maybe 2 times and just let him sit in a stroller with a reclining seat- definitely not enough IMO to have needed to buy an infant seat. We have all Evenflo Triumphs and no complaints! It is very easy to line up the top of the straps with his shoulders because there are red tabs that sit on top of his shoulders.
