Depends on the other symptoms. If my child has a sore throat or headache or aches or just really complaining then I'll give her Tylenol or Motrin even if her temp is only 99. But, if it's just a fever, then I'll wait until it's 101 and then give her the meds.
I work in a hospital and we usually treat fevers if they are 101 or higher with meds.. If it is 99 to 101 we take off the blankets and place cold clothes on the forehead.. Then recheck the temp in 30 minutes.. I do the same at home
