What did you learn after becoming a mom that you wish you had known before?

That I know exactly what I'm doing and no matter how many I ask for help or input 9/10 times I am already doing beyond what others may recommend.

That BF or not BF doesn't make you a good mom and to not listen to the ladies that want to give you a hard time about it. Seems silly but I guess it just goes back to trusting yourself and knowing what is best for you and your baby.
The second baby is easier than you think .

I wish I knew how little time I'd have left for myself and how easy it is to loose yourself when you become a mom.

I knew NOTHING about breastfeeding but everyone just expected me to do it. On top of that my baby stayed in the NICU and I didn't know I had to pump in between seeing her. No one explained anything to me.

That I should have done it sooner. That for the little bit of 'my life' that I would lose, i would gain so much more.

I ditto all the girls' answers!

As painful as it is, and as much time for yourself that you lose, you gain an amazing being who loves you unconditionally!

However, I would have loved to know how much breast feeding hurts the first few weeks!!!!

And that just b/c a doctor swears you'll kill your baby if you let them sleep on the belly, sometimes, it's the right thing to do.... Esp. if your child refuses to sleep on his back!
