Angelkitty's thread about moving made me think of this....

1. Where you do you live?

2. What kind of house/apartment?

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between?

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in.

1. Where you do you live? just outside Vancouver, B.C. in Canada

2. What kind of house/apartment? An old farmhouse-style house ... we just bought it this year (our first "owned" house - property here is CRAZY expensive, lol!) It was built in 1942, and people tell us it looks like a little gingerbread house. It's got three sloped-ceiling bedrooms upstairs (but NO bathroom up there!), kitchen, living room, dining room, piano nook and bathroom on the main floor, and an unfinished basement. It's on almost 10,000 square feet, so we have a lot of yard, yay!

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? I love it... it's cute and cozy and different. There are some things that are frustrating, like nearly-70-year old electric wiring in some parts of the house, but it's our dream house.

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in: the Olympics will be happening here in a few months!

1. Where you do you live? In Northern KY near Cincinnati. You get the best of both worlds here- city amenities but small town atmosphere.

2. What kind of house/apartment? We live in an apartment complex in the suburbs. It's a small building with only 12 or so units, and we love that we are the youngest in the building. Makes for very quiet neighbors. It's a large 2 bedroom with one and a half baths. The layout makes it feel like a small house rather than an apartment.

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? We love it here and will be so sad when we have to move. DH is applying for a full time worship minister position now that he is about to get his degree, so we'll most likely be moving in the upcoming months.

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in. The city we live in is truly one of Cincinnati's best kept secrets. Close to downtown (5 minute drive), but away from the congestion/noise/crime. Oh, and my town has the best school district in the state!

2. What kind of house/apartment? We live in a 4br 2bath home. We've lived here for almost 6 years and brought our wonderful son home to this house

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? We love it but neither my husband or I are from FL and we'd like to move back to Charlotte, NC or Nashville, TN. Our neighborhood is full of kids and lots of people our age which is nice.

1. Where you do you live? Los Angeles, California

2. What kind of house/apartment? Duplex

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? Absolutely HATE it. We had to leave the condo that we rented in a nice area because we had a dog( rott/pit mix) that was too big and the Home Owner's Association found out. The owner of the condo knew but she let us rent anyway. It is very hard to find a place to live in LA with a big dog AND the breed of dog that we had. We found this little duplex with a huge yard right near a huge park so we decided to make the move. My SIL and her boyfriend soon moved in upstairs so it was a nice little family duplex. Well, we soon found out that right across the street in the woods, I mean the street on which I park my car, is a gay prostitution meet up/have sex area. I've never seen anything gross and it doesn't interfere with my life or cause me harm but still, DH can't go outside without getting hit on. LOL Well, we gave the dog away to my SIL's ex-bf (who still lives upstairs and we DON'T talk to) so we are getting the heck out of here asap. It's hard to believe we pay $1400 to live in this P.O.S. place and we've been here for 2 years. So stupid.

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in. Um...I can see Dodger Stadium from my backyard and hear the crowd too.

1. Where you do you live? Central Massachusetts

2. What kind of house/apartment? Its a colonial style house

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? There are things in the house that I don't care for, but we bought it knowing someday we were going to remodel and add on. I love how much land it has (2.25 acres, and that its not a busy area. There are only about 4 other houses on the street and they all have more land than we do. There are also no houses across the street. Its all owned by the cow farm down the street.

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in. Haha theres really nothing neat. Theres like less than 2,000 people in this town. And absolutely nothing to do really. I didn't want to be in the city though or even that close to it because its not that great of an area. However, the schools are good which was another plus when we bought it.

1. Where you do you live? about 30minutes northeast of Philadelphia

2. What kind of house/apartment? we live in a 3 bedroom, 2bath ranch/cottage type house, it is older built in the 40s.

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? I love our house but wish it was just a tiny bit bigger and older, my dream house is a house built sometime around the 1920s I love that vintage style, we plan to move when this baby is 3-4 to a bigger home, we'll see!

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in. I love that we are so close to the city, and I love the cultural diversity of where we live, it is also the City of Brotherly Love and we also have the Liberty Bell

1. Where you do you live? Roseville, Michigan.
Soon to be Clinton Township, Michigan.

2. What kind of house/apartment? Now? 4 bedrooms, bi level, 2 bathrooms, 3 car garage unattached, no basement...1500 sq ft.
Soon...4 bed/4 bath, finished basement, 2 car attached garage, 2500 sq ft, colonial.

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? I hate it here. ACtually the house isn't bad, it just doesn't have a basement. I HATE this city. It's the white trash capital of the world, and many of my neighbors flaunt it proudly.
Love it in Clinton Township. I grew up there. Much nicer area! And I'm moving into one of the nicer areas of the city. I think I can send the kids to school and not have them learn how to be gangsta thugs (whereas they kind of are learning, now...)

My ex husband picked this house...it was between here or downtown Detroit...there was this house with bullet holes in the windows and bars on them. I picked this one. We don't have to worry about bullet holes, at least.

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in. Roseville is where one would go to find a girl who...lets say...is attractive and will do what you want??? I don't mean prostitutes...but young guys like to come here. My particular neighborhood is one of the nicer ones, but there are some where I wouldn't go outside at night. If you watch the news, someone is always killed and it's always in Roseville. Or some sex offender did something bad here.
In my new city, a lot of Italians live there. I'm Italian =) We are moving in by one of the nicest new malls in the area, I'll be going there often =) Also, my kids are going to attend my old high school!!!

1. Where you do you live? Rochester, MN

2. What kind of house/apartment? House, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths..it's not ours its actually my fiances dads, were staying here while we save up for a house of our own

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? I loved it at first, now it's getting crowded and I need more space and the kids each need their own rooms and they all 3 share a room right now, not fun..I love the yard, we lived in a townhouse prior to this and had no yard so the kids love it

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in.
All I can think of is the good and wonderful old Mayo Clinic..1883 after a tornado swept the city and killed 24 people Dr. W.W Mayo and his sons helped care for the injured. Mother Alfred Moes and her Sisters of St. Francis cared for recuperating patients. After the crisis was over, Mother Alfred proposed building a hospital, but Dr. W.W. Mayo wasn’t enthusiastic at first.
When the sisters were able, four years later, to purchase land for a hospital, they built the 27-bed facility with plans and suggestions from Dr. W.W. Mayo and his sons, Drs. Will and Charlie Mayo.Soon, a cohesive organization known as Mayo Clinic took shape, and patients came not only for the surgical expertise of the Mayo brothers, but because of the clinic’s unique organization and philosophy of patient-centered care.

Today’s Mayo Clinic — providing care to more than half a million people via 2.3 million visits annually to three main campuses — is a testament to the organization’s roots as a collaboration between a pioneer doctor’s family and the Sisters of St. Francis who, in the later years of the 19th Century, together created a hospital on the prairie.

http://ww2.rochestermn.com/background/of/mayo/clinic/story-351.html

--ps... I think I love my city, knowing we have one of the best medical facilities around.... the crime rate does jump every now and then but I always think, where is it not rising? There's just some things I can't control. There's always fun things for the kids to participate in and plenty of stuff for adults to do !

1. Where you do you live? 45 minutes west of Chicago.

2. What kind of house/apartment?
Townhouse. 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath.

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between?
I hate it. The walls are pretty thin, I can hear my neighbors fight every day. We plan to move in September next year into a house.

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in. I really don't like it here. It's a pretty big town population of 160,000

1. Where you do you live? Quad Cities, Illinois

2. What kind of house/apartment? Own our house - 3 bedrooms, sun room, dining room, deck, fenced in back yard, basement, 1 car garage, front porch that would be perfect for a swing. It's in a great kid-friendly neighborhood. The elementary school is two blocks away.

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? I love it!

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in: We are right on the border of Iowa. Only the Mississippi separates us. The "Quad Cities" is actually just an unofficial name for the 4 main cities in the region. 2 of them are in Iowa (Davenport + Bettendorf) and 2 of them are in Illinois (Rock Island + Moline). We are in Moline.

1. Where you do you live? About 30 minutes north of Fort Bragg, NC

2. What kind of house/apartment? We bought a house

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? I love it! It is a 4 bedroom so something bigger would be nice, but honestly we fit in it well It has a huge backyard and we just bought the kids a Disney wooden swingset with a fort and slide, and a trampoline. It also has a fireplace - I can't wait to light it up (once I figure out how LOL)!

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in. We are honestly out in the middle of nowhere LOL - but that is what we were aiming for! I like our subdivision because it is pretty secluded from any city life.

1. Where you do you live? East County, San Diego

2. What kind of house/apartment? 1360 sq ft house on about 1/4 acre of land...although a lot of that land is the granite hill in our backyard!

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? In between. It's really too small for us, but we bought at the height of the housing bubble and this is what we could afford. We're terribly upside down on it now and can't move. But it's not a bad house...it could just use more rooms. I like that it's on a quiet street that leads to a cul de sac. I like that we're on a hill, so the neighbors are right next to us. I like that we have a hill in the backyard and no rear neighbors.

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in. We're pretty much 15-60 minutes from anything...the ocean, the desert, the mountains. There are a lot of scenic drives to go on around here, which is perfect for us because we like to take the cars out on weekends and just cruise around.

Where do you live? Jacksonville, Florida
What kind of house/apartment? Our first house we bought a month after we married in 2005. It is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath house built in the 80's, typical suburban type housing development.
Do you love it, hate it, or something in between? We mostly love it, there are a few pitfalls;small yard (VERY typical in FL), 2 of the bedrooms are pretty small, and we didn't know alot about home-buying when we bought it, so we probably got taken advantage of financially.
Something neat about my area/region? We are only a half hour from the Atlantic Ocean and we love that, can get to Daytona Beach or Orlando in a couple of hours, and lots of great neighbors on our street, 4 baby girls about 2 years old now for my daughter to play with!

2. What kind of house/apartment? we own a coop (apt)

3. Do you love it, hate it or something in between? i like it, if we weren't having a baby it would be fine, but it is a one bedroom so it will soon be too small for us. We hope to sell this place and buy a house soon.

4. Tell us something neat about the city/region you live in.
We live about 25 minutes outside of NYC. It's great, we live in the suburbs but have the big city just a short drive or train ride away.
