I'm a major bag lady. I've been searching and searching for the perfect bag/s to use as a diaper bag.
There is SO much out there. I don't know if I should go with a tote style or a convertible backpack style, or a shoulder/messenger style.
Here are two of my faves..
I've been looking at the Kemby Sidekick. It doubles as a carrier, which I think is so innovative and neat. I'm not sure how easy it would be to use though
I also like any Petunia Pickle Bottom bags.. but they are so pricy, I don't know if I could convince DH that I need one..
So ladies, show me the bags you are lusting after!! I'd love to get more ideas.
This isn't my dream bag....I'm really not sure if I actually have a dream bag, but this is the one we will be using:
It was onsale at potterybarnkids.com (and I'm cheap so it fit the bill).
I also signed up for a parenting magazine and as a free gift I get a quilted diaper bag....I haven't received it though.
I don't have a dream diaper bag anymore. I've been through a few already with Carly. They just get ruined so easily, I decided to just buy the nicest cheap one I can find
With my first I thought that I needed some sort of special expensive bag, but now I just use whatever they give me at the hospital! If it is cheap and holds the stuff I need it works. I have even used a plastic walmart bag! It works...
I love the Petunia Pickle bags! but I don't want to spend the money on one...... I will be honest though I usually just use a big purse and throw in what I need, I like to coordinate my bag with my outfit so that works better for me, I had a diaper bag with Syd and I rarely used it.
I'm with Stephanie on this one. I will use whatever I'm given. My 4yr old is old enough where I don't need to pack snacks for and she's fully potty trained, so I really don't need a big bulky bag. For now all I need is bag to hold a change or two of clothes, a bottle or two, diapers, wipes, changing pad and a plastic grocery bag for accidents. I'm looking at those smaller Eddie Bauer bags. I may just use what I'm given at the hospital too. Here's a pic of that small Eddie Bauer bag:
I have that Eddie Bauer bag. I barely used it. I do not like to carry things. My purse is big enough for me to throw some diapers in and an extra change of clothes. That's probably what I will end up doing most of the time.
Good ideas ladies! I really want something that looks 'purseish' because i'll won't be carrying around two bags.. I can't live without my purse either. I carry around too much stuff as it is. I might just have to start carrying less. I just can't live without my camelback waterbottle and some other necessities.
I had a Ju-Ju-Be Be All, and I loved it. It held up so much better than the cheap bags, but is not too expensive. I am going to get one, I just haven't decided on which print and style yet.
to be honest, I'm just going to be buying the cheapest one I can find, that has all I need - which really isn't much - just decent space & a couple of little compartments
my dream diaper bag would be a coach bag - they are way expensive though so unless I can find one on ebay or something. I like them becasue they do not look like diper bags at all so when done with that stage the bag is still useable.
Yeah, I just used having a baby as an excuse to buy a bigger, more expensive purse. I never bothered with a diaper bag. I breastfeed so I don't need extra compartments for cold bottle storage or whatever, just enough extra room for some dipes, wipes, receiving blanket and maybe a change of clothes.
I'm so picky, i'll have to go into a few stores and shop around.. I'm all about shoes and purses, but I am putting off buying shoes because i'm pretty sure the pregnancy is making my feet grow.
I have a coach purse now and am contemplating getting a new one since I am kind of getting tired of it, if I do I think I may just use it instead of buying a diaper bag. I plan I breastfeeding so I don't need bottle storage, just somewhere to put a change of clothing and some diapers and wipes.
