I am a total kid swap addict... went to one this morning. Keep in mind, I have a 2.5 year old, so there isn't much gear I need. But I decided to go, and pick up a few girl clothes since my first is a boy.

Well, I got some seriously awesome deals! I got some brand new with tags stuff, and some barely used.... in all, I spent under $40, and I added it all up and it would have topped $170 originally probably!!! I'm going to take pics later once the batteries are charged, and post some pics... dang cute!!

*******
Updated: I couldn't resist, I had to go get pics right away... I looove sharing my deals, lol! Seriously, I get a rush when I go to a swap and get good stuff! I listed the brand names, I'm not huge onto brands, but just to give a comparison for what it would have cost new compared to what I got it for!

Here's what I got - I purchased sizes based on the due date, so summer items for 12 mos, 24 mos, etc. and winter items for 6 months, 18 months, etc.:

Brand new with tags, $3, includes the little bloomers underneath (size 24 months)

Brand new with tags, $3, has bloomers underneath, 24 months

$1, size 12 months

Baby Gap, $3, bloomers underneath, size newborn to 3 months

Gymboree, size 3T, $4 (this is a stiffer cotton, not a jersey)

Gap Kids, orange terry cloth sun hat with straps, $1

$2, corduroy, inclued the shoes, 6 months

Brand new with tags, $2, 3 months (not a swimsuit, just jersey cotton)

Baby Gap winter bunting suit, minky-type material inside (with little ears on the hat!) $8

I also got a little knit hat that looks like a strawberry.

For DS, I got a Bilibo seat for $5 (they're about $40 new here: Bilibo indoors and outdoors, all year round...)

This dress I already had, something I picked up at a thrift store a while ago... it's Baby Gap, 24 months, Hawaiian print, got it for I think $2.50?

Such cute stuff! Here they are called Mom2Mom sales. I've gotten some really great deals at them! Moms are selling their kid's stuff. Often prices are cheaper than resale shops. I have gotten lots with tags on them too. It gives me a huge rush too!

They also have clothes swaps here in MI too...everything is FREE at those!! There is one in less than two weeks. You have to really dig through stuff to find good stuff that isn't stained...but I have gotten lots of great stuff. I got my daughter's Osh Kosh winter coat at a swap for FREE! The clothes swaps have clothes for all ages...womens, mens, kids and babies.

That's awesome. The town clse by always have townwide yardsales in the spring. I plan on hitting those for baby clothes and a few other things I need.

No, they're just like big garage sales. They're held at community centres, with big tables, and moms can book a table to sell some of their stuff. It's like a flea market. Within driving distance to me, there is one almost every month in different communities - I'm kind of in the centre of a lot of different neighbouring communities.

People sell everything: baby gear, carriers, tubs, toys, clothes, etc.

I outfitted DS for winter - jacket, snow pants, mittens, hat, boots, etc. - for under $20 at one I attended in the fall.

The trick is to go by yourself... if you have baby with you, you can't get the good hunting done!

That sounds awesome Christina. Kid swaps, free health care, you make me want to move to Canada more and more everyday
