Kylan is in this screaming stage and it is driving me crazy!! He will scream at the top of his lungs millions of times a day. We try to ignore it and acknowledge him when he is using a nice tone but I have no idea if that is what we should do. Are your kiddos screaming? How are you dealing with it?

Sarah randomly screams too. It's the worse when she screams while sitting in her carseat which is behind the driver (usually me). Scares the crap out of me. We aren't doing anything about it really. Sometimes I just say shhhh...no screaming, but I don't think it helps much.

Yes, the car is by far the worst! And dinnertime when the other boys are trying to talk to us. I know there really is nothing you can do about it, it is just so loud sometimes!

I would just say keep ignoring it. It will eventually pass. DD did it and all my daycare kids went through that phase too. Reacting to it will just reinforce it.

Maybe get yourself some earplugs until it's over.

Daphne loves to scream, she does it out of excitement, boredom, frustration etc. If she's doing it because she's playing and having fun, we don't usually say anything to her, but if she's doing it just to be loud we will tell her 'shhhhh, quiet voice'. If she's frustrated, I try to help her with whatever she's frustrated with and tell her it's ok or whatever works. I'm pretty sure most, if not every kid goes through the screaming phase, I say as long as it's not negatively affecting anyone, just let it pass. I do feel for you on the car screaming though, lol, it scares the crap out of me when Daphne does it too!

yep Sam screams too, he mostly does it when he is excited and playing and I don't really do much about it at those times but he also does it out of frustration, I am trying to teach him the word "help" he does occasionally repeat me when I say it but doesn't really use it on his own, screaming is easier I guess

Elias screams all the time. Seriously. I think he thinks it is normal, lol. We regularlyremind him gently to use an indoor voice. He's learned the sign for help, so that removed the I need help reason for screaming at least...
