I totally sent her a message saying Oscar will bring a sword.
I'll be sure to invite her to Holly's gun themed birthday party

Well, it's May and it's cold and it's raining and it looks like it will never get better. Never.
Happy May day.

Good Morning! It is supposed to rain all week here. But the temps are supposed to be in the 80s so I don't even care. I'll take the rain if it's warm!

Happy May! raining here too, blah oh well not much I can do about that.....Michelle that is hysterical about the party and Oscar bringing a sword, bahahahaha....I agree that is annoying, pushing a boy to be girlish is just as wrong as forcing him to play with trucks and swords if he doesn't want to, I mean if he is totally into princesses of his own accord fine but doesn't seem that that's the case :/

Michelle, I have a friend who has two boys and with the first one (5 now) pushed everything girly on him. He didn't wear dresses, but wore girl colours, and he had a lot of dolls and "girl" toys. It was great for Leah, because we had lots of playdates with them and she loved all that stuff. Around 2, he became obsessed with cars and balls and there was absolutely nothing she could do to change his mind. She eventually gave up.
It's one thing to push princesses on your own son (which I totally don't agree with!), but to ask his friends to dress up as princesses too is ridiculous. That poor boy.

Add us to the list with dreary un-springlike weather. Grey and mis 50's here today and for the rest of the week it looks like.
I think the thing that stuck out to me most about that party, Michelle, is her asking the attendees to also dress like princesses. Like Jennifer said, it's one thing if your boy loves princesses and wants a party/to dress like one... but asking other boys/families to do the same just seems a bit much to me. What movie are they seeing?
I guess I have to reluctantly start really planning Noelle's b-day party. We are just days more than a month away and I don't have a clue what I am going to get her, what kind of an event we want to have - nothing. I think I am in denial about the whole thing. I don't want my baby to be a real toddler.

Happy hump day, Mamas!
Lisa, I hear you. Watching these little guys grow up is amazing but also heartbreaking!
I'm actually going to bail on the princess party. It's on a busy weekend for us so I'm just going to make my life easier and not go. I haven't told O about it yet so he won't miss it. Best mom ever!
Holly woke at 4:30 today. Ungodly hour! We're making the most of it though.

Happy hump day!
Levi was baba free all day yesterday! He didn't even ask for one at all until I put him to bed. He cried, we cuddled and he got over it. And he didn't ask for one this morning either. Maybe we are onto something...!!

Oooh, that's promising! Way to go Levi and Amanda!
Holly has taken a new interest in the potty but I'm too lazy to really give it a real go. I don't think she's really ready yet anyway, just toying with the idea.

Morning (a little late).
Yay for Levi! When I took the soother from Leah around this age, it took her almost a week of grieving before we were able to move on. I'm happy Levi took it better.
James and I just went on a blind date with two other moms and their tots. We met at a petting zoo type place with a huge playground. One of the moms seemed nice, but the other one spent the whole time quizzing her daughter (what animal is that, what colour is that, how many do you see). It was hard to listen to. James wanted to be carried most of the time, so he didn't bond with either of the little ones. Oh well!
DH and I went out last night for a date. Our activities were a bit of a bust, but it was nice being able to chat without Leah talking over us and James screaming for something.

Levi has an interest in the potty too. He likes to put the potty seat on and sit. He always points to his weiny and says potty but rarely actually goes on the potty. I am also too lazy to give it a go ATM.
Glad you had a fun date night Jennifer!

Yay for fun date nights. I need to schedule one of those with DH sometime soon. We do have a nice "get away" planned in August that I am looking semi looking forward to. We are going to see Aerosmith in Tacoma (about 2 hours away), so driving up to Seattle for the day, then to the concert and home. Not staying the night, but should still be fun. DH has never been to a concert, so it should be interesting for sure.
We are about 30% hit and 70% miss on the potty at our house. We do have Noelle in underpants a lot when we are at home, and she will sit, but I think she's learning to hold it more than anything. She does ask on average of 2 times per day at day care, and gets it about 2-3 times a week so it's a start. We're not doing anything hardcore about it though. Perhaps in the summer when I am home with her an extra day per week.

yay for dates! I so need a date! boo for annoying quizzing mothers, I know one of those too it annoys me like I always think "should I be quizzing my children? am I doing something wrong?" then I remember that no I am not lol
Sam loves to sit on the potty, he has yet to go on it, I am just in no rush with the whole thing. probably cause I am lazy. haha

Hurray for lazy potty moms And dates are awesome too! Dh and I have great dinner plans for my bday next week. Pretty excited.
The sun FINALLY came out and we spent 3 hours in the park this afternoon. Life affirming! I ran into sooooo many people and Oscar say so any of his little buddies. It was really good and the kids are eating a huge super and will probably sleep like angels. Right???
Oh, and I would be annoyed by the quizzing mom too. Eager beaver show off moms, give your kid a break!

Good morning!
The kids slept until 5:30. It's an improvement that can still be improved upon. They are both still tired and super cranky.
I think I'll take them to the pool this morning and exhaust them to their fullest.
What does Thursday have to offer you all?

Morning folks!
Busy time of year in these parts with schools coming to an end, meetings and getting things into place for Noah next year. If it rains this weekend, I'm going to kick a meteorologist in the no-no zone, to much to do for rain to occur. Ella is still asleep.... but that's only because she tried to start her day at 3:30am. Hooray. One month from today she will be 2. How the heck did that happen?!?!

Ugh Amanda, I hate nights like that. We have that on average of once a week at our house. Last night it was just Noelle in our bed tossing and turning and throwing the covers off. I can't wait until she finds the joy of her own nice comfy bed
Today offers catching up on a few things I have been putting off this week. Bossman has been on vacation all week so I will admit, I have been slacking just a tad. I have a few things to catch up on this morning then I should be good to go for when he is back on Monday.
Other than that, I am debating a double birthday/middle school promotion party for Noelle and Genna in June. Genna says she is ok with it, but I am just not 100% sure that she is... Thoughts from the masses?
