waiting for calls is horrible! hope they call soon Kelly!

Sydney is excited, she is most excited to stay in a hotel and meets new friends, we are meeting up with one of DHs old college friends, he has 2 girls (ages 5-7) and a baby boy about 9months old. Sydney can't wait to meet them and ride rides with them LOL

I need a new bathing suit for the hotel pool I think, maybe I will do some shopping later this week.

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Mine was okay but I am STRESSING about money. W/3 birthdays, Mothers day, a baby shower w/in 2 weeks, I am going crazy. We agreed to split a cow w/my bro and parents back in December (when DH and I both had full time jobs) Well the cow was done this week...$340 later for me on top of everything else..

Yay for Dutch Wonderland lol. Hope you guys have fun! You'll be about 35 minutes from me

Oy, cows don't come cheap! Homemade gifts? Vouchers for meal delivery and baby sitting for when the baby gets here? Sorry! We're pretty broke too after all those freaking weddings. I think I'm baking my mom something and writing a nice card for her. She doesn't really want or need anything and she would hate the thought of my spending money I don't really have just to get her something.

I was just telling DH I wanted to buy a cow, not for the dairy for the meat haha it seems so much healthier!

Amanda feel free to meet up with us at Dutch Wonderland! of course with money woes that is probably the last thing you want to think about. We are staying at the Eden Resort, it looks pretty nice, it better be, because it isn't cheap! maybe you could meet up with us there if you are bored, Levi could swim with Sam and it wouldn't cost you anything

Haha Jennifer - Yeah, I mean an actual cow. I got 28lbs of burger, pre-made burgers, porterhouse steaks, sirloin steaks, t-bone steaks, ribs, roasts, tips, soup stock meat, ect. My entire chest freezer is filled. (It was empty before)

And I used to be pretty tiny. None of those shoes fit anymore since I was pregnant. I am trying to sell everything I own lol. But now DH's mom (who has no money and lives w/2 teenage girls) is interested. I would like to sell them for a decent price since they were expensive and in good shape, but I feel like I would have to give them to her for a cheaper price.. hmmm

Kim, will you be there over the weekend?

As for gifts, I spent about $40 on my Dad, $50 on DH and $65 on my sister (BUT I had a $90 credit to Bed Bath and Beyond...so really I didn't spend anything on her) I spent $25 on my Mom for Mother's Day, but I'm not sure I'm keeping everything. I might return the one thing and make her something. I'm pretty crafty

I didn't buy a baby shower gift yet, it's for my cousin. My mom already got her gifts and said that I can just pitch in.

Yes, waiting for calls does stink. Hopefully they call before too long today.

Our weekend was fairly mellow - groceries and other errands on Saturday. Sunday my brother woke up with a red swollen eye and Genna a sore throat so we bailed on the Zoo and just hung at home instead. Got some cleaning done and some playing in so all in all it was nice. We are looking at a week in the high 60's-mis 70's here. It will be nice to have the sun shining for more than 5 minutes.

And I will agree, money woes are the worst. Just when you get to a place where you think you are ahead, WHAM! another shoe drops right on you and you are more behind than you were before. Ugh, it's the worst.

I like Michelle's ideas - baking and offering babysitting services. For family gifts, I often have Leah make them a card or something and James has just started making his own cards too.

I brought James to the park today. His tummy issues seemed to have resolved themselves and his runny nose wasn't bothering him, so we went to play in the sand for a while. It felt good to get out, especially since it will be rainy the rest of the week.

Any news, Kelly?

Bah. Sucks that the weather is going to stink the rest of the week. Holly took an early nap today so I guess we`ll head out to the park soon and stay for a few hours. Enjoy some sun while we can. At the very least I hope that Kim gets our sunshine while we take her rain.

Off topic(not that there is a topic...): Oscar has a friend named Isabel and Holly calls her Jingle Bell It kills me!

Ive always been intrigued with buying a whole or half cow but it will just remain a dream for now. We don't have a big freezer and we don't eat much beef either. But we would if we had half a cow!

Hahaha I just answered the phone at work while reading the Jingle Bell thing and laughed. The customer was probably like uhhh...

The meat from the cow is delish! We had steaks Saturday and Burgers last night. So fresh and tender and pretty amazing. All natural, grass fed. Pretty darn good.

I would eat more beef if grass fed were easily at my disposal.

Good morning!
Well, look at that, it's raining. And the kids are fighting! Guess we'll go to playgroup this morning. Think anyone would mind if I just left them there for a few hours??

Good Morning!

I want to go to the dentist! Now that I have insurance, I think I might make an appointment. I haven't been there in probably 7 years

Tomorrow is DH's b-day and my sisters b-day. We are having a "Fiesta" They both love Mexican food so we are doing a taco bar, rice, beans and dips (salsa, guacamole, and queso) Margaritas and corona to drink! Everyone is bringing something so that's nice. I don't really have to spend much. And I am using burger from my cow! lol We had left over tequila and mix from something..like an entire bottle.

My only issue.... I invited DH's mom. She text me a little while ago saying she is bringing the 3 kids that live w/her, their cousin (who she refers to as "the devil boy" because he has issues and lights stuff on fire) and DH's brother and daughter. That is at least 4 more kids than I was expecting. So that's a bummer but I guess I can't invite her and tell her she can't bring the kids she has to watch. Not sure where her unemployed boyfriend will be or why he can't watch his own kids.............but we'll have fun either way!

Sounds like it will be a fun party Amanda.

Speaking of family I have been getting daily texts from my mother all this week. We have an incredibly rocky relationship to begin with, and I rarely speak to her. She has some mental issue, and is claiming to be "seeing dead people". And she's determined to get me to understand her point of view on an issue that I have remained neutral on for the last 6 years - I can't choose side in this one and she's forcing the issue. It really shouldn't drive a person batty to get a text or call from their own mother, but in this case it does. Ugh.

On a brighter note, the sun is shining here again and other than two cooler days tomorrow and Wednesday we are looking at 70-80 for the rest of the week and into the beginning of next week. Yay for sunshine!!
