You two really should meet. You live in the same city, right?
DH is getting ready for his business trip tomorrow. He has to be at the airport for 4am! The worst part is that he wants to go to bed early tonight so I have to watch the premiere of the Bachelorette by myself!

Lol, Jennifer! Would he usually watch it with you??
Technically Kelly and I don't live in the same city. She lives in the 'burbs

Yes. It's our guilty pleasure. All the drama and awkwardness is hilarious.

Good morning!
Rumors of rain today so I think we're off to playgroup this morning. I'm totally bringing a book today. I need a break from talking about what kindergarten I'm sending my kid to and other thrilling playgroup mom topics.
I ran last night for the first time in a couple of months. Guess who's having the last piece of cake for breakfast
How's Tuesday looking for everyone? Kim, how was your first day back yesterday?

Morning! raining here too, booooooo. My first day back was typical, nothing terrible nothing great.
I would have to agree Michelle that bringing a book to playgroup from time to time sounds like a fab idea, all that chitter chatter about schools and whatnot must get annoying, of course I am easily annoyed. When people ask me "what school will your kids be going to?" I am like the one 2 blocks away, ya know the public one? the one that my $6000 in tax dollars goes to? yea they will go to that one LOL Every person at DHs work send their kids to fancy shmancy private schools, they think we are crazy for using the public school system, it irks me on so many levels for so many reasons :/
Jennifer I don't watch the Bachelorette but I did happen to turn it on last night as she was meeting the guys, she annoys me and I only watched her for 5 minutes, it's like she doesn't move her face/mouth when she talks or something, WTH LOL....wow I guess I am easily annoyed

Haha Kim, I like you! I'm totally on the same page about schools. "The one I can see from my back door?" It's f ing kindergarten for god sake.
Can you imagine paying 12 grand a year to send your kid to kindergarten???? (no offense to those who do, it's just totally out of my world of understanding)

right? there is a very exclusive school about 10 minutes from us, want to know how much it costs per year......wait for it....wait for it.......
Boarding Students — $48,910
Includes tuition, room and board, and some materials/lab fees.
Day Students — $32,860
Includes tuition, all meals, and some materials/lab fees.
that is directly from their website, how in the H E double toothpick do people afford that? now granted that is only grade 9-12 but still! and quite frankly I know a girl who went there and she isn't very bright, money can buy an exclusive education but it sure doesn't always make you smarter ....in other news Blythe Danner and the late Ennis Cosby are alumni so that is kinda cool I suppose, not really I am grasping

Morning! I didn't go to work yesterday. My stomach has been acting like a tard lately. I am so scared it's getting bad again. I am very stressed about money and I know that stress is the biggest trigger to my stomach issues. The weather matches my mood today!

Ugh I know that feeling Amanda
I also don't comprehend the whole tuition for elementary school. 5 year olds coloring on a sheet a paper vs 5 year olds coloring on a sheet of fancy paper. Makes sense to me, I'll just write that cheque out for 30 grand out now.

I went to a private elementary school and high school, but it was a religious one and wasn't super fancy. I also did a work/study thing in high school so I had to work a certain number of hours each school year in exchange for a portion (large portion) of my tuition being paid. That said, my kids are going to the public school down the street. But if we lived in a different city I would likely think otherwise. Some of the public school around here are struggling so bad for money that the educations of the kids are severely compromised.
It's another nothing fancy Tuesday around here. DH and I are starting to talk dates for our next trip to California and are trying to choose between before school starts when the temps will be 100+, or after school starts when the kids will miss school but temps will be in the 80-90 degree range. A missed week of school is sounding awful nice to me if those are my choices.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well, Amanda. Darn money issues. Try not to let it hurt your tummy though!
DH's brother will be sending his son to a private school when it's time. They have plans for him to attend a top college in the States, so they want to get him started on the best foot possible (that is their explanation). DH went to public school, as did his brother. DH's parents and us are simple people. So we are having a hard time wrapping our heads around his brother's big plans for his son. His wife also went to public school and they both turned out just fine (DH's brother makes a LOT of money, but it was a lucky find. He didn't even go to university).
DH left at 3:30 this morning. It was my first time in a while doing the morning routine for the kids. I usually get to slowly work my way into their craziness. I am now on my 4th cup of coffee.
I ended up only watching a bit of the Bachelorette last night. It's not as fun to watch with no one to make comments and jokes to. Especially when all the guys just kept talking about how stunning she looks. Apparently she has had a lot of plastic surgery on her face, so that might be why it doesn't move much.

We know several people sending their kids to private elementary. I feel like it would be awful for my kids because it wouldn't be long before the caught on that they don't have most of the things their peers do.
However, Oscar is more than likely going to a private high school but only because that's what the boys in dh's family do, for generations and my bil is the principal and they have a policy that if a boy (it's all boys!) deserves to be at that school he will be at that school, regardless of income. I also know so many really wonderful men who came from that school. But really, if I had never met dh it certainly wouldn't be on my radar
Hope your belly gets better, Amanda!
Is your belly hurting too, Kelly, or just the wallet?

Well I did some rearranging of my life.
Got my student loan payment down to $17/month and it won't go into collections if I keep paying only that little amount.
Cancelled HBO - saves me $16/month
In the process of getting daycare lowered. I have to take in paystubs tomorrow.
Made an appointment for WIC
Set up a payment plan for AT&T (DH starting using his old phone because his newer one broke. He accidently hit the Data button and it was running until AT&T shut it off due to overage rates. His accident cost us about $350)
Reposted stuff on Craigslist
It's a start...
Hah about private school. I'm worried about buying diapers for my kid w/the little money we have. Private school is the last thing on my mind.

that's what my DH said that she looked like she had "work" done....she is young? hardly needs face injections lol but whatever....I was cringing when all the guys were saying how stunning she looked, I was like since when does not moving your mouth when you talk equate to "stunning" haha I am old and bitter I guess
and sorry you are stressed Amanda but that sounds like a good start! my stomach gets a mess when I am stressed too, blah! chin up, it will work out!

Good for you, Amanda! And remember, this is temporary. When your DH is done school and finds himself a great job, things will get easier.
Is Levi showing any signs of potty-training readiness? That would save you the cost of diapers...
James isn't ready at all, but we figured out he's allergic/intolerant to soy, yay! (Good because I'm not changing 5+ very runny, messy diapers every day and we've started sleeping again). So that is saving us quite a few diapers.

Amanda, I could write the book on that struggle. Alex was in school for 9 LONG years of our relationship. It sucks. But it's short term, and eventually your long term will get easier. Hang in there!!!
Alex went to private cegep, and technically, if we wanted to send our kids to a private school, alex's grandmother would front their bill. I'd rather them have that money for post high school education though, so public it is. (although if Noah gets in where we want him to, it's private but gouv. subsidized. pretty sure i just butchered that word). Also private school in my area is uh... painfully snobby.
