How would you all handle your four year old saying "i don't like you" to you, usually when being reprimanded or whatever? Because, really, it doesn't hurt my feelings or anything and I know I won't always be likeable, but is it not cool to let him say that? I really don't know where I stand on it.

We encounter our fair share of "i don't like you" and worse. I generally counter with "well, I am sure you are mad now. But I still love you"

I ditto Lisa, if Sydney says she doesn't like me I try to explain that I know she is mad and might not like what I have to say but I will always love her....I don't know the right answer but that's what I do.

Well...............if we are being totally honest. I will admit that it has come out in the heat of the moment. In fact, last night the words "I don't like you either, but you're awfully luck I love you right now" happened to slip out.
