I found out yesterday that as of January 31st Abigail's daycare will close. I know this shouldn't seem like such a huge deal since there are plenty of providers in my city but it really is. She started this daycare when she was six weeks old. She cries when I leave her with her grandmother or aunt, but she rarely cries when I leave her at daycare in the mornings. I am currently on the lookout again for a new daycare and I am pretty bummed about it. I hate to see my little girl have to adjust to a new place

that is hard I totally understand, if our daycare closed I would be sad too! She will adjust I am sure but I am sorry you have to go thru the process of finding somewhere else for her to go HUGS!

At least they gave you lots of notice to find a new one. It will give you time to pick a great provider and hopefully have some playdates so she can get used to the new place.

I know how you feel. Levi's daycare told us on a Wednesday morning a few months ago that they were closing their doors for good on that Friday at 6pm. It was heartbreaking. He was there since he was 7 weeks old. And not to sound like a debbie downer but he still cries every single morning at his new place. It totally sucks.

I understand it being a huge deal because it was for us too. They grow up loving the teachers, staff and other kids. It was so sad!

That stinks. I am having issues with out day care so I am looking for a new place for other reasons, but if I was happy with the care and the staff and they closed it would be a total bummer. Hopefully you are able to find something soon and Abigail will be just as happy there.

I found her a new place! Now I just hope that she loves it as much as I do

First off, I went to a very upscale place and was totally sold on the place until they told me the price. This place had many extras like gymnastics and music classes but all of those cost extra. Plus I would have had to supply her lunches. The place was awesome but it was kind of like shopping for a house when it was out of your price range if you know what I mean. I NEVER should of went there.

Anywho, I just left from another tour of a local church and signed her up on the spot. When I walked in the door I saw another mother from her current daycare there signing up her little girl. I love the idea that Abigail will get to still have a familiar face at the new place.

Thanks ladies for all your thoughts. Abigail will probably start there at the first of the year so hopefully she'll adjust just fine!

Poor little Levi I know it must be hard to leave him like that.

Yay. I'm glad you found a place that you like and Abigail will have a friend there too. We went through that exact same thing a couple of summers ago before Sarah was born but the situation was with my son. He was at this one place from 6wks and had to switch when he was about 15 months. He had very few adjustment issues. I hope Abigail doesn't either.
