Parenting style that is. I cam across mention of "Bubble Wrap Kids" in the May 2010 PR and did a little research and came up with this:

"Slow parenting" without a doubt.

DH and I are very laid back. We are hippies at heart and pretty much go with the flow. I can't stand (and please don't take this the wrong way) parents who push their kids to do things before they are ready. Or parents who drill kids with baby Einstein and crap.

It irritates me that my cousin has a 15 month old son who she is potty training. Levi has a potty and we occasionally sit him on it just to get the idea, but he isn't interested and i'm not pushing anything until he is.

hmm I don't know, I would say I am pretty laid back. I don't like labels really, I kinda take one thing at a time and handle things as they come.

I have to ditto Kim....I dont think any of those "labels" really describe me anyhow. Seems like I'm alittle of everything.

I read this and then said, "That's it? That is all I have to choose from?" I don't think I'm any of those. I think like anyone else, there are some things that I hover about and someone else may not....there are other things I'm pretty laid back about, and somethings I am foot down stern and animate about. It is different for everyone. I don't know why it is necessary to put a name to it.

I thought the same thing, Myra. It just seems to black and white for me. Like you, there are some thing that are up for negotiation, some things I overlook because it makes my life easier and some things that are definitely not gonna happen.

In having a teenager now, I am hearing that I am the "cool" mom about some things that other moms are more strict about, while at the same time I am the "strict" mom about other things. And that is a-ok with me.
